Sooo annoying (villagers who decide they'll stay)

Naomi just put down her plot and I get a ping from Mac. He wants to move! Whoa- I didn't know villagers could ask to move 2 days after another leaves and while another is putting their plot down which is how I most likely lost a dreamie TT'ing a month ago and following an incorrect guide (warning: just go day by day). My lucky day! I got a dreamie and have a chance to get another today! But nope! The options are, "Don't go!" and "Who are you?" NO! He decides to be spiteful and says he's staying much to my annoyance. The last time this happened with another who kept telling me no, they eventually did agree to move. I'll just keep talking to him once in a while and hopefully he asks again in a couple days or at least after another asks it'll be his turn again.

Help me feel better and commiserate with me! xD

That happened with Chops once but I was so close to getting all of my dreamies so I turned my game off without saving and he pinged me again, thankfully he agreed to leave. I hate it when that happens:/

Just turn your game off and avoid Mac. He will still move out because the game has already set him to do so.

It worked! Thanks all- I'll remember this so I don't have to deal with it again. He pinged and I chanced talking to him. The option "Good luck" was there and he agreed to leave! YES! Off to the plaza~~

I just had Timbra move.... and I got Bam! So I know what its like to have a villager who wont budge because Timbras been one of my original 5 and hasn't pinged me to move in 8 months and I didn't TT at all either soo...

Same thing happened to me with Cyrano, but I had just done a toooon of bug catching and didn't want to reset.

I'm wondering, if a villager pings you about moving and you save before they ask, and then reload the game, will they ping you again, so you can still keep your progress?

It must be! Because if you ignore them- they go. If you yell into your megaphone at them while they ping you the ping goes away and they move. The other animals will probably bring up the rumor? I'm just guessing.

Yes.
