two things

one: is it normal to have someone ping to move the same day you have someone move in? it happened recently and i. didnt realise it was a thing

two: i bought a zell from a lovely user recently, but i moved my time to 5.57 to begin plot resetting and when i loaded up zells plot was already down. did i do something wrong? that method has always worked for me.

Villagers usually ping when it's not a holiday, so it is possible for them to ping when someone moves in. It might also have to do with the number of villagers you currently have. As for the plotting i have no idea, i just accept where my villagers put their houses.

Did you set the clock to 5:57 the next day? If you TTed backwards to 5:57 A.M. on the same day, then you messed up.
