Tonight I was in my main town fishing & I went into Pashmina's house to respawn the fish. I decided to talk to her, and she said something that surprised me.

She mentioned how she used to live in another town (my second town), where she knew a kid called Max. She went on to say that he was pretty weird, or something to that effect, and that she might have had a different impression of him if they'd hung out more. The thing is, I am 100% that Max is a female mayor lol. Pashmina referred to her with male pronouns twice. Is this an oversight or something? I know uchis like to refer to other villagers as 'they' or 'them,' but Pashmina was very clearly calling a female mayor a he. Not a big deal at all, but I thought this was funny and wondered if any of you had experienced something similar before.

I've had villagers tell me all sorts of mixed up stuff.

In WW, I made an alt character, (Hellion) then evicted it. He never spoke to any of my villagers, yet they started telling me stories about him.

Dora said to me "Hellion once gave me a Stringfish".

Hellion didn't have a rod, and never even MET Dora.O_o

i feel like the gender markers in ACNL are just up in the air at any given time, lol. when shari first moved in my villagers referred to them as "she," but now they're a "he." very progressive of Nintendo i must say

I believe it's an oversight, it's just an error they made in translation that only occurs with the uchi villagers I believe. At first it was kind of a big deal, but after seeing it so many times not so much. They also refer to other villagers as a he sometimes when talking about them or when they're asking you to deliver something to them. I think a grammatical error also occurs with them when they're talking about a villager who apparently wrestled a bear with their "bare" hands.
