Your DS would freeze if you took the cartridge out man.
i think he is talkin about takin the gb cartridge out and could you save??????? :gyroidconfused:
this is also really cool i never knew this

well i think the reason why it works is that the game is so small, considering it is direct port of the N64 version with slight tweaks, that the whole entire game can fit in the Wii's RAM. Now this makes me wonder, can the GameCube do the same?

hahaha someone got owned.

The wii has a fairly large cache so you can do things you've already done while playing but you won't be able to do anything new because of the lack of disc to load from. You can do it in other systems like the ps2, but if you do the game will EVENTUALLY freeze. This isn't very smart because it's possible to damage the game.

you could take the game out of the system but you can enter buildings, i used to do it a lot when i got bored.

It's because there is something in the GC discs that allows them to be saved completely to the system, which would allow them to still be played while the disc was not in the system.

That was posted over a year ago *facepalm*.

@topic:Pretty awesome, never knew that.

this is because the games file size is small enough to be stored and played entirely on the Gamecube or Wii's RAM(Random Access Memory)

AFAIK, it did this on the gamecube as well. But you couldn't play without the disc out forever, because it'd eventually ask you to throw it back in.

Yeah, knew that for a long time. You just can't take it out before loading the town.
