I've had my town for a year and a half and I'm starting to get a bit bored of it. I've been thinking of resetting but I'm quite worried that I would regret it.

So in a last bid to keep my town I've decided to redecorate my town, but I'm rubbish at designing and landscaping. So if someone could visit my DA and give me some suggestions that would be amazing! I'll give 50btb for each person who does :)

Just a few things - the area below Blaire's house is reserved for Flurry's house. The area to the left of the campsite that is sectioned off is going to have a fire pit and a hammock.

My DA is: 7100-4301-2836

I just visited, and your town is very nice! Something I would suggest however if to have more diversity. Currently, all the walkways are lined with bush/peach tree and so on. Try experimenting! It all depends on the colour scheme you are going for, but for example, peach and lemon trees look very nice next to each other. You could also make some areas more open, and use different types of flowers and hybrids.

Since you are using qr code paths, I'd suggest to make another character. They could hold a larger path or waterways (which would probably look really good, depending on the theme you are going for, or if you have one!) , or simply hold the paths so that you can have more qr designs on your mayor, for output fits or wallpaper.

As for what you have now, I like the area with the statue fountain and the windmill, and the campsite idea sounds great! Good luck with your town, and if you ever need help I'm here :)

So first thing, I would advice using Paths at the plaza. I like the golden roses around but I think paths would give it a 'kick'. Move the flower clock in front of the town hall, it looks like it's in the way/messy.
Use different trees, just too many of the same trees makes it look a bit repetive, I would section off the trees into different areas,
also connect the paths to the villagers houses, it makes it feel much more comfy. I got a bit lost! I would maybe use other paths on the other side of the river. I like the fountain with the blue flowers around it! Also use different bushes around the town, the colours start too look boring and maybe use more bushes like the one outside the mayor house. I would maybe make some playgrounds using bushes and put PWP there.
I can think of anything else, but I do like a lot about your town!

imo u need more colours!! u only had a few flowers and used the same, dark bushes and imo it looks kind of depressing!! try shaking it up with some bushes with brighter leaves and flowers along your paths in some places!!

your town is super cute but if it was mine i would definitely put in some more colour!!

i really like the thing u did with the wind mill in the middle of kind of a plaza thing

i think you should add a bridge near your mayors house so it gets easier to get there lol

I just visited your town. I like your map, it looks HUGE compared to my town.
I'm using the same paths. I think our towns are pretty similar.
You can visit my dream adress for inspiration if you like:
7400-5707-7502

I used a lot of orange and black (and red) flowers they look very nice next to the paths.
Also use A LOT of flowers to fill the open spaces. I went often on trips to the island to take a lot of flowers from there.
I think roses, cosmos and pansies look the most cozy on the paths, and it's nice for the autumn :)

It's also fun to give your villager little gardens with bushes, trees and flowers that match their personality and house.

I liked it to use one square paths that lead to public work projects to wander a bit around.

But most important,
Take your time for it and enjoy landscaping :)
Don't look too much at other towns but design everything as you like it...

Good luck!

I just visited! ^_^

Other then what people have already said I think I would spread out the bridges a little more they are all kind of bunched in one area which makes getting to certain parts of your map a little more difficult. I also agree that you should add paths to either all or none of the villagers homes. Some villagers have paths near them while others look just lost in your map like Apple and Molly.

Things I really enjoyed was the area around your windmill and how you decorated the area around the pond by Molly's house. It really made the pond area look more like a destination instead of an annoying waste of space. Also your house location by the beach entrance with the waterfall and in its own little circle is absolutely perfect and I'm so jealous. XD The inside of your house was also really peaceful; my favorite was the backroom. :)

I am looking at your Dream Address right now:

You claim you are rubbish at landscaping?!!!!! The town is amazing!!

Here are some ideas:

1. Have you tried to compartmentalize the town into different "areas"? For example, choose one area for your perfect peaches. Then choose one area for regular peaches.

2. I can see the variety of flowers mixed in the various places. Love it!!! Maybe choose some hybrids. Do you like pink? Pink roses look nice with peaches.

3. Do you like your town hall? Perhaps the goal of a new town hall would inspire you.
If I were you I would take out the two front bushes in front of the hall - it seems constricting to me.

4. Paths - I LOVE THOSE PATHS. It seems though as if the paths end abruptly. I am walking, the path ends, and I freeze - like I fear I'm going to step on a crack & break my mothers back kind of feeling.

5. Bridges - is there a way to build a bridge near the cafe' or do you like it as an island?

6. Love your mayors house placement.

7. Love all your PWPs. Windmill is so cute there.

8. Change the season, changes tree colors- perhaps changing the season the current DA is in would tone down the overall darkness of the trees and bushes. I think your town would totally POP in Fall.

Don't reset your town! It's a great map. You have some superb residents. Your waterfall is perf. Just try some new ideas - try some different bushes, plant some new fruit trees, perhaps add a new character somewhere and build their house with fun rooms.

My new town I just started looks like an zygote compared to yours. My DA is 5000-5873-8294
I am trying to figure out where to place my cafe' and campsite if anyone can help I would appreciate feedback!

You landscaping is far from rubbish, it's quite nice. I would move a bridge, though just to spread them out more and make the west side more accessible. If you're bored, you could also change your path easily, I've used that one that you have, but I like to change it up to keep things interesting. I would also thin some of the trees and bushes around your paths, because that's kind of limiting your view, it's restricting. Also, let your paths go somewhere, they shouldn't end abruptly.

Well, first I think you should figure out a theme! It seems like you're going for a more official one with the paths and everything? I like that you have obvious paths in your town but they do feel a bit too restricting. Maybe keep the borders but in the spaces in between, (like the open spots that dont have a path going through them) open then up. Maybe space the trees out a bit more, add bushes, random flower placements (but a color theme, if that's what youre into), and I personally like to drop things on the ground. Shoes are cute to leave by the ramps to the beach, in front of benches, outside of houses. Coins by water fountains/ponds. Ores randomly around the town. Baskets of fruits under trees/by benches/houses. Gyroids in random places as well as unidentified fossils.

Your town map is very different and dynamic!

I really like how much space you have in front of your town hall! Maybe make it more open and more interesting with maybe a play ground if you like that set of PWPs. Put a cute little bench in and make the town hall look like it's a community spot!

I'm super jelly you got peaches as your town fruit! A pink/gold/white theme would look cute! A gold/white/blue and or purple would look very regal!

You already have quite a few cute spots in your town already! I love the area by the windmill. Also your retail.

I've got to say though, my town used to be a lot like how yours is now, but all the "fences" and restrictions drove me nuts! I guess my biggest piece of advice would be to open things up a bit. If having set paths is your thing, that's totally okay but it'd add interest if you put in little nooks and crannys that had interesting spots. Like a path that leads to the town hall but it opens up into a playground as I suggested before. Like your path leads straight to the campsite, maybe stop it halfway, put a sign up that says "Camp ->" and then have a winding path through the trees and bushes!

Go to dream towns galore! I've changed my town from this "official" look to a forest one, so I've been going to forest themed towns like mad to gain inspiration!

I hope I've helped in some way, even just a little! You've got a really interesting town map to play with and I hope you're able to be happy with it some day!
