Some questions about villagers

I recently restarted and have forgotten quite a lot about the game. I'm also new to this site.

I've been wondering where people get the pretty graphics on here about their villagers? Also, is there a guide anywhere about how villagers work? I seem to recall with Wild World, if you had say, one open villager slot but no cranky animals, that open slot would definitely be taken by a cranky animal. In other words, you had to have one of each personality. Is it the same way with NL? Is there anything else you should consider when planning your dreamies?

I believe that with NL, if your the villager that last moved out was one personality (for example peppy) then that same personality won't randomly move in (for example another peppy won't move in randomly. But you can move in any villager you want as long as you have less than 10 villagers

When you restart your game when villagers are moving in, the game will give you the villager personalities that you currently don't have in town, for example a smug. But after you get all nine of your first set of villagers move-ins are completely random. It won't give you a cranky if another cranky moves out etc.
