Hello!

I recently got a new ACNL cartridge, I decided to make it a special town.
I never really worked on a town this way, I only played very casual so far, and usually all alone.
But for this one I would like to have some advice if possible!

I thought about some sort of "mirror" town. Two sides, almost the same size (depending on what map I get), one looks kind of old, natural ; the other is way more modern.
For the villagers, I was thinking I could take 5 species, they would all have a double in the other side of the city. For example, I could have Anabelle in the natural/old side, Olaf on the modern one!
For the PWP I am not decided yet, same for the spot of the villagers. At first I thought I could have the natural ones displayed on their side, each would have some space around his house, and the modern ones would be all in line like if it was a real city, some sort of street with all the houses next to each others... but then I wondered if it would not be better if the river was like a mirror? And I could put the villagers according to where is their double?
But if I do it that way, what do I put where the town hall/Plaza/Re-Tail are, on the other side?

I am not really sure what to do, or where to start. So far I found one map that looks cool for this project, what do you think?

My only problem with it is that I don't have much space on the right-top, or even the left-bottom, there is not much space between the sea and the river... But I like that everything is on the same side, it could be the modern one I think... (plus I don't like the square on the ground but I can deal with it)
The name is gonna be Haeveah, because it can be read from left to right and from right to left, and I like how it sounds.

For the villagers, I want to have one of each personnalities, so far I thought these would be nice: (natural/modern)
Avery (cranky) / Pierce (jock)
(I don't know which normal cat yet) / Ankha (snooty)
Anabelle (peppy) / Olaf (smug)
Deirdre (uchi) / Diana (snooty)
Papi (lazy) / Roscoe (cranky)
OR
Ankha (snooty) / Felicity (peppy)
Erik (lazy) / Diana (snooty)
Antonio (jock) / Olaf (smug)
Phoebe (uchi) / Gladys (normal)
Roscoe (cranky) / Papi (lazy)

I am not really sure about them yet. I just really would like a little Egyptic part for the town, so Ankha is one I really want to keep, I love Diana and Olaf too... for all the other, they may change. Any idea of couple?

Well I think that's all for now, I would really appreciate a lot if you had any advice on my little project!
(and I am so sorry for my English, I am still learning)

What a fab idea... very similar to one I had myself recently (but that I won't be using now so feel free to use it!).

How about a city, where the nice, pretty, modern top portion is your upper class city folk with all the shiny PWP's, with the lower part being "downtown", so a bit less manicured and where the villagers are a bit more "normal"... with less PWP's, or at least not the modern looking ones.

As for the map you have, it is nice... that bit at the top right, although quite thin, would accommodate a path to a bridge leading down into the lower half of the map? And the lower left could be your campsite maybe?

Good luck with Haeveah... I look forward to seeing how it turns out :)

Thank you so much!

Yes that's what I thought for all the PWP, in fact the idea is to have one part in the past, so PWP would be more wooden, natural, and the other modern or in the future, so very shiny and with a lot of projects!

For the path in the top right it's a great idea! I never know where to put my bridges, but it would be cool there, thank you!

For the campsite, I was thinking to put it in the natural part, which would be the top one. (as the town hall etc. are on the bottom) I don't know where yet, but I think the placement is not as important as in the bottom!
So in the bottom left I was thinking the Caf?, maybe? And in line just next to it, all the villagers. I am not sure where to put my house yet, under the town hall?
In my head, it should be something like that:
town2.jpg
The red dot could be the caf?, grey ones the police stations (I don't know which one yet), green the campsite, the black lines for the villagers's houses, white ones for where I could put my house?
Caf?, police station and campsite are the only PWP that can't be destroyed, right? ><

This is an idea I got a long time ago, but what if you got a town that had different areas representing different parts of the world? Like you could put a windmill and make rainbow tulip field surrounding it (That's a thing in the netherlands), Build a tower and make a small area representing Paris, use some Zen PWPs and make it look like Japan or China, and the list just can go on!

That's a good idea, I thought about it but never actually did it ^^
Plus there are some villagers that could be great for that! (I have Cousteau in my other town, I can't help but think that he is the perfect clich? for France xD)
Maybe for another town, as I would like to do what I started working on! Thank you :)

This idea is a little similar to the one I had for Palinoia (while it's a little similar it's also completely different) I have a modern, city like top part of my map and a country bottom part. If you want to use the mirror idea, why don't try this: wherever you put a modern pwp, place a old pwp around where the first one is. Like where a video screen is on one side, a windmill would be next to it. Also, for your character(s)'s house, you should try to heavily imply that the world/town is a mirror. Maybe even make a story out of it! No matter what ideas you do or don't use, I'd love to see it while it's progressing/finished. This is a very cool idea!

Thanks for your answer!
Is Palinoia done now? Does it have a DC? I would love to see how looks like, if that's ok ^.^
And that's a great idea for the PWP, I'll try to do it like you said as much as possible! Hopefully it will look nice.
I'll try to find a story, it will be very fun to do!
For now I am just trying to figure where I should put everything/everyone to really show the mirror part. I already have some ideas!

You could always put Brewster's and the Campsite on the opposite side of where the Town Hall and Re-Tail are. Just a thought!
