SOLVED: Can anyone help?? Leif has never been on my island!

So I started playing on the 9th of May, just after the Earth Day activities. I was still under the impression though that he (Leif) became a regular weekly NPC after this event? It’s been 3 weeks since I started playing and he’s never visited I have the most up to date version, and Redd did visit a few times, although even he hasn’t been in 10 days.
Is it likely I’ve got a bug with my updates? Or are the appearances of Leif more random? Any help would be great!!

UPDATE: as if like magic... I’ve logged on today and he’s there. I have no explanation for this

The only thing I could think of is maybe you don't have the Able Sisters' shop built yet? Otherwise I'm not sure what to suggest since according to the dataminers he more or less guaranteed to appear once every week on a weekday.

As for Redd, he is one of the rarer NPC spawns so you could go several weeks without him appearing on your island.

EDIT: Never mind, the shop shouldn't have anything to do with Leif. How far have you progressed with the tutorial/game, though?

thanks for replying! I have the Able Sisters shop and a 3 star rating/terraforming so I’m not sure what else there is for me to try really weird..Not sure whether I’ll just have to keep waiting and see whether maybe they patch it if other people have got the same problem

Maybe keep track every weekday and see who visits? IIRC Leif, Kicks and Saharah are guaranteed to visit once per week, and the others are random. I'm sorry you are dealing with this.

how strange! I haven't had KK Slider to my island yet but have had Leif twice now after resetting my island a few weeks ago :/ I know it's not the same, but if you're interested in visiting, I can let you over the next time he is around?

This wouldn't solve the problem, but I could have you over because he is here, so you can stock up on enough flowers and shrubs to last you until he comes!
