I finally got my dreamie Uchi villager the other day! I was so excited, so I plot set for a little while until I got her to a spot that I liked.
Then today this villager (Shari) suggested a PWP. It was the brick bridge, which is the bridge that I want to use throughout my town. Yay, thank you Shari!
So I go to Isabelle and lead her to where I want the bridge. I've wanted a bridge here since the first day of having my town, because it is the perfect place and will make getting around much easier. But guess what Isabelle tells me? It's too close to a resident's home. And whose home is it too close to? Shari's. And it's ridiculous, because her house is a full four or five spaces away from the river, and the bridge place is a few more spaces south of that. Come on Isabelle, how is this going to cause any problems?!

*sigh* I guess I should have been more careful. Now I don't know what to do. :(
She's not a very popular villager so I didn't pay anything for her, but I'm afraid if I let her go I'll never see her again because she's probably voided a lot. ;-;

Any ideas? Should I get rid of her or try to find a different bridge place?

Find a different bridge place. If Tiffany suggested a pwp to me, but it was too close to her house, I would find a different spot. It's not worth it to give up your dreamie, as you would have to do the 16 villager cycle, and then find someone to give her to you. It will be much easier to find a different place.

have you tried moving a little bit in the same area where you want to build the bridge and then talking to isabelle? that's what happened to me! i thought it was too close to the resident's house, but when i moved a little bit, isabelle said yes. :)

Finding a different bridge place is definitely a better option. I think it's better to have Shari with a bridge some place you aren't entirely pleased with, than having the perfect place for your bridge but no Shari.
I'm sorry that you have to make this decision, though. :c Good luck with finding a new place for your bridge. I hope you'll like having Shari in your town too! ^u^

Yeah, I guess I'll do that :-/
There's a place further south that would probably work, but the problem with that spot is that Marina is on the other side. Luckily she isn't one of my dreamies though. There's also a weird twist in the river there, so I worry that that spot also wouldn't work...

Yeah, I tried for about 15 minutes. Couldn't get it :c
I think I'll try again though, just in case

Thank you for the advice. :3
I guess I'm going to have to deal with it. Maybe I'll only go with two bridges in town~

Agree, if there is other places to put bridge, do that. Giving up your beloved dreamie just for this is totally not worth it. 16 cycle can only be fast is you do TT (which might risk to lose the others).

I think I'm just going to let her go when she asks. :c There is no other place that will work with the way I've built my buildings, and I really need this bridge here. Thanks to everyone for the advice though!

A while ago I deleted a suspension bridge to get more suggestions because I wanted brick bridge. It was a few squares away from my cafe but I didn't even consider it because Isabel let me put the cafe there next to the bridge. A few days later I get my brick bridge suggestion and go to build it in the same spot as the old one, but Isabel says it's too close to the cafe. Apparently it's ok to build a cafe 5 squares away from a bridge, but building a bridge 5 squares away from a cafe is unacceptable.

So basically I feel your pain. Because I can't move the cafe the bridge had to go in a less desirable spot a few squares away. Sorry you have to lose a villager over this though.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that :( Isabelle's bridge placing requirements seem even more ridiculous than any other PWP placing. I wonder why :confused:
I also have a suspension bridge near my cafe that I was going to replace with a brick bridge. I'm reconsidering now though... :-/

I'm really sorry about that :c It seems to happen so often, I wish that Isabelles pwp limitations were more lenient... bleh.

If you wanted to cycle for her, I'd be happy to hold her in my cycling town until you could invite her back in again. I've done it for people on here before :)

Oh, you would do that? :o Thank you so much! That's so nice :') If she ever pings I'll PM you.
Would I have to go through the 16 villager thing? (I don't fully understand it) If you're holding her for me, can I ask her to move into my town again as soon as she's in boxes in your town? Or will a villager not move into a town that they've already lived in before until 16 villagers are cycled through that town? I've never tried this before. :p

You'll have to cycle through 16 other villagers before she "forgets" she's lived in your town and will offer to move back in. It's such a stupid system. But I can give you some crappy villagers from my cycle town to cycle into your own too if you like :)

I have a bridge near my cafe I would like to demolish to try for a new bridge request, but I figure it would be absolutely crazy to do so after all the horror stories. I'll live with the cobblestone.

Isabelle had a really stupid thing with the custom-design sign and the flower clock today.

xxoooxx
xxoooxx
xxoooxx
xxxxxxx
xxxxxxx

x = flower
o = flower clock

I wanted to put the custom-design sign where the red x is, and she said it was too close. There would have been plenty of space to walk around it. :rolleyes:

Gah. I put it somewhere else and it's now built, and it looks okay, but it would have been so perfect where I wanted it. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Ah that's so sad :( I lost Shari to the void in a TT accident. I was so frustrated at Violet for refusing to move, it's a miracle no one else managed to slip away. But Shari is great.

Oh, ok. That is a stupid system :-/ How annoying.
That would be great if you'd do that for me! I'd be so grateful c:
