Excuse the stupid title, I had no idea how to make something short that fits in the point.

As I'm sure we all have noticed by now, if we sit beside a villager and open up the camera, they seem to almost always hop off the seat and grab something and walk away.

At this point I'm wondering if this is either an intentional feature, or if it was an oversight. What do you guys think?

I know!! I tried to take a picture of me sitting with Kiki and she hopped off once I got my camera off, like girl do you hate me????

This is useful to know. On time Reneigh sat in the middle of a bridge. I don’t wish harm on any pixelated or real animals but I also know how glue is made and she isn’t helping herself. I should’ve just done this!

Well all I can say that is something new to hear for New Horizons. It doesn't happen in the old games

Yes, I've noticed I have to keep a certain distance and be sneaky about taking a photo during these instances. :lemon:

It hits hard when a smug villager calls me paparazzo like SHUSH YOUR FACE omg.

I am curious if this actually has something to do with friendship levels as well.

I've sat with several villagers before (on a bench, cushion, floor seat) and they didn't go away. Even with the camera zoomed all the way in. But there are villagers who did just stood up and went away.

I wanted to mention this the other day, but thought maybe i was just having bad luck! It happenes so many times that i consider myself lucky when i am actually able to snag a photo. One time Rosie kept getting up every time i tried to take a pic of us sitting together, but she would sit down again as soon as i go away lol.

Zucker did that to me after specifically asking me to sit down next to him. As soon as I got up and left he went and sat back down.

It would be hilarious as a feature, but I also feel like it might be just a consequence of how quickly villagers can cycle through actions in general? The opposite happened to me today when I tried to take a picture of a villager examining a flower, but as soon as I got the camera out, she just sat down right next to the flower, and I accidentally took a picture of that. Very cute! But not what I had in mind, haha. They can move around a lot more and have more things to do compared to villagers in previous games. I remember that it was a miracle even getting a villager to sit on a bench on NL, haha.

Whhhat! Why do they do that! Like i am trying to make excuses for them but i can't come up with anything XD

I've had it happen to me when a villager just sat down and then I sit next to them for a photo. So I'm not sure it's the length of time they've been sitting there? It seems like it happens far too often to be a coincidence.

I've noticed this too! It's so hard to get a good photo while they're sitting, I've only managed to have a villager stay long enough for me to take a good shot once or twice.

it might just be bad timing on our part lol. I have this happen a lot too
I like to think that my villagers are just camera-shy ahaha

I think it might be bad timing. I usually am able to sit down for awhile. I am a bit saddened that the villager doesn't react like they did in New Leaf.

trying to take a pic with my villagers is like trying to take a pic of my cat - as soon as the camera turns on, they flee lmao
