I was out on my beach with my little sister, who was visiting my town for the first time. Then I saw a massive shadow in my water. I figured it was either a tuna or, at best, an oar fish. NOPE! It was a freaking coelacanth! I didn't even know you could catch one when it was snowing.

On the downside, I never did catch a goldfish for Lucky. *Shrugs*

Yep.
Raining or snowing, after 4 PM, all year 'round. ^_^

This one time I was out fishing for one for like 30 minutes when 3 appeared right in a row. It was crazy.

What luck! I caught one myself the other day! They must have decided it was time to come out of hiding~

I caught mine a year ago and then Walker came up and was like woah gimmie! You can have my chewed gum collection. Or something useless like that.

I hit him with a net and went on with my day. Congratulations though!

Wow, excellent!
Have it stuffed and mounted. ^^
A Coelacanth was one of the first fish I caught, I've never caught one since though.

I've never found them to be that rare, TBH.
I caught 5 within half an hour one night, during a storm.

I know when it's a Coelacanth, as they tend to turn away from the bait, rather than snap it up like a bass.

I remember during my first week of getting New Leaf, I managed to catch an oarfish.

Congrats on catching your coelacanth!
