So, I created a second town called Melon and I really, really love the layout of it! It's so appealing to me! Also, it has cherries as native, a fruit I kinda wanted and Bunnie and Willow coincedentally moved there. Also, only one lake, which means more space for landscaping and PWPs. I finished the annoying tutorial too.
My kinda problem: It has so many rocks! :( I think it has 7 or 8 rocks, most of them kinda in the middle of the town.
I havent decided on where to put PWPs and paths because this to me comes with the process of the natural town developpment but I'm really anxious that the rocks could become an issue in terms of aths etc...
What should I do? Recreate and hoping to get a similar layout and do the annyoing tutorial again? Or give it time and see if I can work around the rocks?
I'm such a perfectionist in Animal Crossing, it really sucks xD

Ahh the best thing to do might be to try to work around them, since there's no guarantee that you'll find a new layout similar to this, or a new layout that you'll like ;v;

I know, haha. The problem with rocks it, they'll start to bother either later in the game or they won't bother you much at all. But it's hard to tell in the beginning :x

7 to 8 rocks is actually a bit on the low end! Towns normally average 9 in many cases. Mine has 9. The best you can do is just work them into their surroundings.

I know what you mean!
The only NL town I've ever had is Aberdale, so I didn't really think out the map. I have rocks in the worst possible places, and a pond right smack-dab in front of the train station. I didn't really think through about it lol.

You should try to work around it, but if you can't, then I would recreate in hopes of getting a better layout.

i try to work around them, i haven't counted all of my rocks but there definitely are more than my other town (i was a bit bummed out). if i want to hide them, i try to plant a tree in front of it. it doesn't 100% work, but it's not as much of an eyesore! sometimes also i like to think that people can sit on them for nice screenshots next to pwps in dream addresses :)

Yeah, rocks are annoying. I guess you just have to work around them and incorporate them into your town if you don't want to hack.

I don’t hack so I guess I need to think about path placement although I’m early in the game. Then I’ll decide on if I keep it or recreate :)

Word of advice.. don't let the rocks control when or how you reset your towns. I use to be EXTREMELY picky about the rocks (still am to an extent), and I very quickly lost interest in the game. Having perfect rocks makes looking for good lay outs near impossible. You're always going to have 1 or 2 rocks that are just in the way.

you could try working around them but if you like double wide and straight paths at least one or two will probably become an issue later on.
depending on the theme of your town you could make it look good (like w forest towns making it a bit foresty and if you dont have qr paths it's much easier to take the paths around rocks and stuff)

no, 7 rocks are definitely many. the average i've had in my towns is 4-5 or something and having 9 rocks sounds annoying

i would say you could go in and save edit somehow but i personally dunno how to do that or even if you can still these days.
but yeah, as everyone else is saying, just work around them! you can do iiiiit!

It depends on town layout. More open lay outs have more rocks, as rocks appear in the acres where there is no building or river (accept for the cliff lake/waterfall). In more open lay outs, 6-8 is average with 9 being the high end.

When I first started my town, there were rocks around my permanent buildings. I eventually worked my way through them by placing more permanent buildings beside the rocks. The rocks became part of the landscape- an aesthetic. There is a rock near the town hall but I made it part of a garden by placing a villager house there. There is a rock near my house but I also made that part of a garden. I did the same with the other rocks and they blended in with the landscape. There were two rocks near each other but I placed the polic station in between and it looks SO GOOD.

So yeah, my advice is to assume the rocks to blend in with their surroundings. Likely that you are going to build a garden around them.
