it'll be my first time hosting anything ;_; do you think anyone will come? (pls give me tips on how 2 deal with bad eggs too lmao)

Yeah, I think people will come! My advice to you would be to fence the area in if possible, or pick up things you don't want them to grab if fencing isn't an option. I host a lot, and have had really good experiences, both on here and turnip exchange (but I don't use anywhere else).

I think the best advice I could give you is just to make sure your island is prepped ahead of time. Make sure nothing is out that you don't want out, fencing up where it needs to (if you need to fence that is), you've shaken your trees, gathered your money trees, etc. I've had really good experiences hosting on TBT, but I always take precaution anyway because you never know. Most people here are really respectful though and know how to be a good neighbor, so I love hosting. :)

Good luck with your garage sale! If I see it, I may just end up stopping by! :)

people will come! like already suggested, maybe keep everything at the front of front of your airport and fence the area off so nobody can access the rest of your island ;u; and maybe ask for people’s ign/island names so that if you dowind up encountering a bad egg, which i doubt you will as most people on here are lovely, you’ll know who it was and will be able to leave a negative review c:

Definitely fence off any areas that you don't want visitors. People will 100% wander all over the place if you don't. I always ask for in-game names and islands to help me keep track of who is coming in and out.

It's not a bad idea either to place a limit on how many people you will give the Dodo code out to at a time to keep everything running smoothly for those currently visiting and those trying to fly in. I wouldn't say more than 4 at a time because loading screens.

People will definitely stop by and remember to have fun! Hosting can be overwhelming at times, but it's worth it and the community here is super kind.

I definitely think people will come!

If you are thinking of having a garage sale where you have all the items 'displayed' though, that may be a bit more costly. I originally had that idea and 'put down' all my items for people to see, only to realize that you can't pick up the items while people are over. So if you want to have that type of layout where people get to come to your island and see all of the items, you better have spares in your inventory for people to take home.

If you don't want to go through the trouble of buying a bunch of duplicates, I advise using a site where you can make a 'Wishlist' such as Nookazon, so that you can add all the items you have for sale to your wishlist and then just add the link to your thread. That way people can see what they want to order and the colors you have available of each item.
