I was torn between the two. I liked Xerneas more than Yvetal, but Mewtwo Y more than Mewtwo X.
Charizard X was the deciding point. If it wasn't a thing, I'd probably still go for X, but it would have been a much harder decision.

The moment I saw X's logo, I decided on it. I didn't care for Charizard X because I was picking Fennekin, so Charizard wouldn't be needed. That is what I went through with, and now I have X.

I would have still bought X. I don't really care for mega evolutions that much.

I want to like Charizard X. But there are just too many things about it which are "meh".

It slightly affects my decision, by a degree of perhaps 3%, but it would not change my decision.

I would of still gotten X. I was tempted to get Y since charizard Y was sooo awesome. Then I learned that you could always trade the two items, and weather abilities like drought were nerfed.

Yveltal and Xerneas were pretty much the first Pokemon announced along with the starters. I got Y because Yveltal in infinitely cooler; however I don't think it'll be hard to get a Xerneas on the GTS.
