So, I Just Played This Docked And I Gotta Say...

I played handheld for the first few months. I was surprised when I played on the big screen, that I could see the cute designs on coffee cups, magazines, etc. My eyesight sucks, so seeing this made my day.

this thread makes me wish I had a TV!! I'd love to see what it looks like docked, but a big part of the appeal of the switch for me in the first place was that it was a mainline console that I could play straight out of the box without needing anything extra. maybe once I find some space in my house where a TV could go, I should think about getting a cheap one so I can experience the wonders of docked ACNH, hehe

I play about 50/50, while I'm working from home it's handheld, when I'm off work it's docked. I prefer docked because with the pro controller, I can more easily tell what kind of fish I caught and be disappointed sooner, ha.

Although I play always in handheld mode (because I prefer it that way and also don't wanna block the TV for the rest of my family the whole time), I have to fully agree here that the game really looks beautiful docked. Not to mention all the little details you suddenly notice, just amazing.

I agree the game looks lovely when played on the TV. However, my TV is small and not great. At some point, I will get a nicer and somewhat larger TV. Can't wait to play ACNH on one.

Yeah NH looks really nice when its docked. I like looking at the graphics whenever I dock it.

I have to try this sometime. Unfortunately 3 of my 4 switches are lites, so I can only play one of my towns docked

I play the game docked about as much as I play handheld. Docked is either on my second computer monitor or a few times so far on the TV. The second monitor is nice but I must say I definitely prefer playing the game on the TV!

I love how the game looks on the TV, and there's just something about being able to slouch on a couch while gaming. That's something I can't really do with handheld or docked to the second monitor on my desk, so I definitely really appreciate the days where I can do this :)

this just made me hook it up to my living room tv and it’s so beautiful i love it sm

I play 95% docked. I switch to handheld when I visit someone's island because it's easier to type with the touchscreen. I love playing on the TV, the game looks amazing and It's nice to lounge around on the couch with a controller rather then the whole console. Plus I find the console pretty heavy (weak wrists + heavy console, don't go well) even when I play handheld I tend to sit on the floor in front of my coffee table and rest the console on the table when my figures start to go numb 😅

Yep, that was one of my things when debating what type of switch to get for my first one. After DS days, I really didn't think I'd utilize docked mode much. However, a part of me nostalgic for the GC AC days wanted to see it.
In any event, I was really glad I got the regular switch for my main console and I definitely play it docked more often than handheld.

I'm always torn on how to play. Docked, it looks amazing on the TV. Handheld, I can listen to the music and sounds in my headphones.

I've only got a switch so I've never played on a big screen, this whole thread has made me want to try it someday though!!

The graphics are indeed nicer when docked. However, I still prefer to play handheld. Nothing can beat playing anywhere.

I normally play hand held as it means I can watch tv at the same time. On the rare occasion that I have hooked it up on the tv it really does make such a difference. The colours seem so vibrant and you really appreciate the design and specialness of the game.

Now i have to decide, Friends re run or animal crossing 🤔😂

I have only played it docked a few times but it really makes a huge difference, it's so pretty! I would play docked more often but I like to play in my room and I don't have a spare monitor or a TV to use for it, so I end up playing in handheld mode, which is still pretty but not as stunningly beautiful as it can be on a larger screen.
