WOW! I actually said that out loud when I saw how beautiful the game looks on the big screen. I play handheld about 90% of the time and never played ACNH docked since it felt natural coming from New Leaf (and not playing city folk or the original).

I love seeing my little island on the big screen and I think this officially reignited my interest for a bit. I've been a bit of a slump lately since so many little things make the game so tedious sometimes I dont want to even check in (I'll take it to the rant thread...).

Yes the game is SO beautiful docked. I play 90% docked and the other handheld. And I agree with the slump bc of tedious things. It gets sooooo annoying.

I play all of my Switch games docked and have only played them undocked when I go somewhere for vacation or whatever. It's just so nice seeing games on the big screen. Especially in Animal Crossing's case since I haven't played one on the tv since the gamecube era.

I only play handheld. I tried docked once, but quit after about 5 minutes because it made me feel dizzy and the game looked weird to me. I've never liked playing games on the tv anyways. It's probably the main reason I never played City Folk much.

I usually play docked, and ACNH does look more beautiful to me on the TV as well. I've always played handheld systems less than regular consoles. Something about playing a game on a TV or computer just feels better to me~

It's absolutely beautiful docked! I usually still play handheld though, for some reason games like these feel weird on a bigger screen to me. Maybe that's because I have it set up to take over my second computer screen, though, and I'm usually doing other stuff on that computer while playing...

I still like to run around every now and then with it on the larger screen :D

Yes it is so cool to play the game docked! I use to play it on my TV a lot in during the first several months I got the game, but now only play handheld. This is mainly because I am not as active on the game recently and its more convenient for me to play handheld when I have free time. But you're right, the game is even more beautiful on the TV and I should start playing docked more often again!

I can completely relate to this. I played exclusively handheld for the first few months after launch, and then decided on a whim to try plugging it into my TV. Now I prefer playing docked!

I went through the same thing recently after I got the ACNH edition switch! It was so nice to play docked- I don't know how I played for so long without it!

I'm biased since I play all Switch games exclusively with the system docked, but I don't really understand why people out there, even those who prefer to play handheld, would want to purchase a Lite and lose out on the ability to play the Switch on the television. Save for those who don't have a television, of course. Otherwise, is the better battery really worth the hassle of the drifting problems with the Joy-Cons and potentially having to ship the whole system off to Nintendo for maintenance? I've avoided using the Joy-Cons like the plague since basically the first month of owning the system a couple years ago.

But I digress.

The game does look good on the big screen.

I felt the same way! I haven't played on a gaming system that docked to a tv since the gamecube days and I am in total awe! This game is gorgeous! It was totally worth the wait from New Leaf!

I resonate with this entirely! I thought the game was beautiful on the Switch Lite, but when I decided to upgrade to the regular Switch, I was blown away at the small details that I would have otherwise missed for who knows how long. I play docked 90% of the time now on a 24" monitor~

I have a switch lite and play it on that most of the time, so I must say I'm used to that and never saw the docked experience.

When I get another New Horizons game for my old Switch (Due to me trading between each other back and forth) I'd like to see the docked experience once, and never do it again. (I don't really like playing games on the TV Screen.)

I have yet to try playing the game docked. I have only been playing in handheld mode just because it’s been much more convenient for me and doesn’t hog the tv in the living room while everyone is awake (I mean I guess I could just go to a different room and play, but it just feels nicer to be able to play and watch tv at the same time). Regardless, I do know as soon as I decide to make the switch to dock mode I’m going to be blown away by the quality.

Yes! I can relate so much. Recently I upgraded from the lite to the ACNH special edition. I've never played docked before. It's so much nicer! Don't get me wrong, the lite is very nice, but seeing my island on my big tv is just... It's not just animal crossing that looks amazing, but my other games like Pokemon S&S. I pretty much exclusively play docked now! 😁

I usually play docked too, the only game I don’t really is Stardew cause I like being more up close and personal. I have to say as well, having a sound bar really does help with the ‘realism’ of the sound too, plus I can’t always see the small details docked so :’D

I play handheld all the time but when I went away for a week on holiday to stay on the beach I played it docked and I tell you something.
Playing a island game on a massive tv looking out your wide glass windows in the hotel and seeing the beach is the most peaceful feeling I have felt all year :)

I totally agree! I currently have a huge screen tv that's 4k and the picture is amazing! Sometimes if I want to, I go upstairs in my room to play just to see that huge screen. I mostly play handheld too, as I'm more comfortable with it (and have been for years now), but sometimes I just can't resist the urge to do something different. It is indeed pretty neat. :3

Try playing it docked to a high resolution computer monitor. It's just a beautiful game, with no detail spared.

I play it docked 95% of the time. The only time I play it handheld is when I take it to my best friend's or parent's. Otherwise I always have it hooked up to my TV and that's just how I prefer it! I can see things so much better. But the first AC game that I personally owned and played was City Folk, so that might be why I love having it on the big screen. But I also own and played New Leaf, and I loved that too. This game just has a lot more for me when it's on the larger screen!!
