So Erik moved out...

I'm really sad. He was my only original villager left, and he was my favorite. He was there for all of my birthdays, and I was there for his. Worst of all, if I ever can get him back, he'll forget about me and think I'm just some random person who's inviting him to live in my town.

So I have 2 questions:

1. Did you ever feel this way about a villager that moved out?
2. If I can get the Erik from Hearts to move back in, would he remember me?

It is tricky to explain but unless your Erick moves into somebody else town, you do the cycle and get him to move in from that same town from the same person he won't remember you...I think that is how it works anyway

I was thinking of doing that, but it'll be like having to form another 'best friend' friendship all over again with him, since it'll be like having a new Erik.

either way you will have to do a 16 villager cycle to get him back or at least I think so??

I'm really not sure tho as I have never tried it

Sorry you lost him . Puppet child is correct I believe , Erik won't remember you unless he's the specific one you lost from your town.

Since he went to void, I'm hoping I can find him. If I did and finished the 16 villager cycle and went back to get him when he's in boxes, would he be the same Erik? Or would he say something like, "Oh a new face in town! I would love to get to know you better, but I'm moving out... Funny thing is, I don't know where to go..." Something like that, anyway.

Thanks. If they ever make a new Animal Crossing game, hopefully they'll create it so that the villager actually has to ask you to leave instead of them just disappearing from your town.

If its the same Erik he will still remember you when you complete the 16 villager cycle. I had to do the 16 villager cycle for Eugene yesterday because he moved into a bad spot. I moved him to my other town and once I got him into boxes he still remembered me.
