Snake's bunyip

So I've been playing new leaf for almost a week and I don't know why but a few of my villagers have picked up saying bunyip. Portia and Kidd say it. I have yet to see anyone else say it but if I did I'd probably flip my lid because I have no clue what it is going on. Why is this happening? D:

Villagers always take on each others' catchphrases. *sigh* You just have to get used to it. I have Snake, too, and his "bunyip" has spread to almost every other villager in my town. It's weird to see Flurry and Walker say it.

It's weird. For me, it's Beau's 'saltlick' that keeps getting passed around through my town. I have to fix everyone all the time, now!

oh my gosh thank you so much it would've driven me nuts!

Just wait until you have a hamster say, "Scree-yah!" or whatever it is the eagles say.

I've also had a villager use "eek eek" or whatever the monkey in the train station says. I just laugh now when it happens since I've been informed.

my male villagers has the word "hon" from felicity so I'm like (e.e) Um tf ?
