Smugs and their poems

Have your smugs ever mentioned to you about a poem that they just finished writing? I think they're the only personality that does that kind of thing. My sister was visiting Marshal's house the other day and Marshal said that he was interested in one of her items, and that she'd consider giving it to him if she heard his poem. She refused to trade with Marshal and it made him upset lol. He stayed that way for 1-2 mins and then he went back to normal lol. Have you experienced this with your smugs too? . If so, feel free to share

Some of my normal villagers will talk about writing poems. At least twice now Marina has told me she's writing a poem while she's sitting on her toilet.




My favorite is when they send you the poem in the mail. It's so cute and funny!

Pietro has definitely said stuff about poems. Also, I think it was Olaf, but someone keeps going to trade things with me and they say something like, 'how about I read you my blah blah poem, oh wait its not good enough yet' and then trade me for some thing else

It's kind of silly though that they got so easily upset because the offer got turned off.

For some reason, they always want to buy the stuff I wanna keep/unorderable things. Then when they mention their poems, if I say no to their offer, they'll sulk. Which is why I turn off my DS when they ask..
I don't like seeing smugs sad. :c

Yeah, Lionel used to get upset when he couldn't trade his poetry with me. I also gave him a lost book that was apparently filled with his deep, artsy poetry. I found it adorable. <3

Yep, Zell just did that to me for the first time yesterday! It was sooo awkward seeing him mope around in his house, so I just left, lol. I felt kinda bad; I didn't expect him to get so sad, I just didn't want to trade ):

I think it's because the Smug personality type is meant to be very emotionally intense, which explains 1) why they take an interest in writing poetry 2) why they're so self-conscious about their poetry 3) their exaggerated emotional reactions(i.e., getting depressed when you don't want to trade. An uchi, for example, would never do that.) It can make me uncomfortable sometimes.

Both Curlos and Ken tried that with me. The latter did it yesterday and I said no so he started sulking. I just left his house because I felt so bad, lol.

Same here! I've never been able to accept. I wonder what they do in that situation?! Now I'm curious to hear one of these poems. I've had 3 smugs in my town at a time too...and yet don't remember any of these amazing poems...hmmm, I'm feeling kinda mean now, I guess I always refuse. :c
