He's the same as Pit lol, he's just heavier. Nothing more than just a clone like D mario.
 
They could make both as a alt for the original characters and put Lucas there ;v; or squirtle ;v; I think that they just made Dark Pit cause he doesn't fits in Pit's FS

Nah, I don't think so. Dr Mario was a bit more different than Mario anyway and he was obviously brought back for a reason. The problem is, the 'customised' moves are (correct me if I'm wrong) just alternates to the actual moves, which is why the Mario Tornado can not be interchanged with F.L.U.D.D.
Dark Pit is Brawl Pit, plus his Final Smash wouldn't make sense, supposedly. Sakurai knows that they could be easy palette/costume swaps and they're not for a reason.

... That's what confused me. I didn't realise that. With the amount of announce characters I was surprised that this was the starting roster. The characters are easily unlocked, too.

I can not wait for DHD's reveal, even though I'd prefer it if it was more of a surprise. I'm surprised they made him work in, but yeah, PETA is gonna lose their **** and I myself don't feel ok seeing a lil cartoon puppy be thrown off a stage, but to be fair he could be shot in Duck Hunt.

Oh and I suppose Lucina makes sense, I mean the reveal for Robin and his/her FS includes Chrom, Lucina's father.

Holy crap I knew Lucina's VA was familiar, Laura Bailey... I didn't play Awakening woops.

Because Sakurai is bias and he made The Kidarcus franchise, He wants HIS characters into HIS game I can't wait until he retires and hands the Smash bros title to someone else. I rather have Lucas than Dark pit......

Gunpei Yokoi was responsible for the Kid Icarus series.
Sakurai just made Uprising.
But yeah, Dark Pit could've easily been replaced with Lucas, Mewtwo, Ice Climbers, etc.
Also, I'm still bothered by the fact that the Polar Bears from Ice Climbers are in Smash Run, but the Ice Climbers are no where to be seen.

please remember that king dedede and meta knight weren't in melee because sakurai didn't want to overrep is own series

Oops I meant Uprising, didnt mean to generalize it.

There's going to me a few more extra characters in the game when the Wii U version comes out. Think of Street Fighter/Super Street fighter ect. Theres a rumor going around when you sync your 3ds smash towards your Wii U smash you can unlock them.
So someone either needs to hack the files in the cartridge or its pure DLC. I just dont want Lucas/Wolf to be cut, And I rather have Mewtwo.

I hated jigglypuff in brawl. Especially his/her smash....

My friend lost in a tournament with him/her on my b-day. We were all playing together and I won x3

You're right it is his game. The game he worked so hard on and spent his birthday working on for us. The game that got spoilt before launch even though he hates leaks. Take it or leave it. It would've been the same amount of effort to make the moves and the models regardless. Let's not forget that there are about 11 (or 18 if you want to count the Kooaplings) playable characters from the Mario franchine, five from Pokemon and Zelda, four from Zelda... Uprising was a great game and if he wants to include three characters into a 40+ roster he has the right too. Lucas' moves were slightly different from Ness' and they can presumably be changed so they're similar to Lucas'.
 
On Halloween, my friends and I bet candy on Smash matches. We do three rounds playing as mains, then three rounds playing as random characters, and see who has the most candy in the end
