Lucas' down throw is dumb as anything, but yeah, Lucas players have been getting annoying lately.
 
Hey guys, has anyone entered a local tournament or anything of that sort? (Basically nothing online based)

I'm thinking of entering Birmingham's Electric Dojo in August but I god to honest feel nervous about the whole thing and dunno how I'd be able to keep calm during it, would that just perhaps just be a first time thing?

Any tips anyone would be able to give to keep calm about it? I just feel pressured on meeting new people more than anything.

I entered and won a Smash Tournament in high school for Brawl. Yeah, I was really nervous honestly and it's not an easy feeling to shake. Once you start playing your mind should start focusing on the match and tuning out your surroundings more. Just try ingrain the thought into your mind of nobody else paying attention to your match (even if it's not true). I'm sure you'll still be nervous against your opponent, but it at least can ease some of the tension.
 
Set my name as practice because I wanted to try Olimar and I went up against this obnoxious person and their name was rekt you. Every second they were spamming 3 of duck hunts specials and kept taunting and crap. I beat him tho and it felt so good because he called me a spammer right after xD

To be fair Lucas can't do anything on FD except spam PK Fire/Grabs/Zair, he NEEDS platforms to thrive. But if you want to practice Lucas then you shouldn't be going on to FG in the first place so you should be grossed out by them.

I have been to a tournament irl and I was in the bathroom half the time I wasn't playing, I was so nervous. XP I couldn't think straight at all and made a lot of really dumb mistakes, such as trying to counter Mario with Zelda. At Smashville. That's a terrible combination that is almost guaranteed unwinnable for Zelda. I was eliminated round 2.
But I got everything together and focused when doubles started and got 1st place in that so it all worked out. :)

I have no idea where to even go to find out if tournaments happen nearby! I wouldn't mind going out and trying just see what its like and maybe meet some new people...

I would probably be nervous too, but I played in poker tournaments and have even less in common with those type of people, so it might be fun! I'm the type of person who loves new interactions and meeting people so maybe I should look into it more

like I said, I played poker tournaments where you talk more about not just the game so I bet smash tournaments would be much more fun! just feed into the atmosphere and go in with an open mind! you obviously know your stuff, so just join in on conversations you overhear and can talk about! when all else fails, just deep breathing always calms me down!
 
Just started playing this again. I know she's pretty overused, but my current main is Zero Suit Samus. I used to be really good with Sheik back in Brawl, but I guess things have changed since then. Trying to earn enough money to get the Bayonetta DLC now, 'cause I absolutely love her.

As far as actual balance patch stuff:
-ZELDA WAS BUFFED MAYBE SHE WON'T COMPLETELY SUCK ANYMORE AND JUST MOSTLY SUCK!
-Corrin's Counter was nerfed, also his Nair, Fair, and Uair do 1% less (this helps Nair and Fair actually since this helps them combo easier.) Also Dragon Fang shot does 2% less fully charged.
-Bayo's Up B does less damage, not sure on the exact numbers yet.
-Apparently Meta Knight got nerfed hard

I want to see what else happens to the cast (Wii Fit seems exactly the same boo)

OH THEY KILLED OFF THE UP AIR SPAM COMBO FOR MK YAY

Happy Corrin's counter was nerfed, now people can complain less.

It's not SUPER weak now, It won't kill a Ganon who fully charges Side/Up Smash and Warlock Punch at 0%, however it'll still kill at 0% if Ganon does a Reverse Warlock punch.

But damn, all these other Corrin nerfs, walk and run speeds reduced? Dammit.

I heard they increased Mewtwo's weight to.

Yep, among a few other things. Nair has a bigger hitbox, and also his run speed was increased so now he's slightly faster than Sheik.
His weight was increased last patch as well, so this isn't the first time they increased his weight.
