Guys I really recommend the Hori Battle pad game cube controllers. They are really great despite it being third party. Plus its licensed by Nintendo ouo. They go for around $25 and they currently have a Mario, Luigi, and soon a pikachu style.

Its a pretty nice alternative if you're one of those people unable to get the GC adapter c: (plus it works with MK8)

those are pretty good but you can just get the adapter from playasia and it works perfectly. My friend has one and I'm probably going to order one as soon as I get paid.

I have the same problem. I recently heard from Gamestop email I got a few days ago that the Gamecube adapters will be available in May. I'm not sure if they can be preordered though.

It's made by Hori which is known for making really high quality gaming accessories, but they have it officially licensed by Nintendo...so yeah more or less you could say its pretty official lol
