I'd be willing to go along with the 20 - 30 Million range, I just hate having to drop that amount though but hey, People on here are DESPERATE for artwork of their Mayors.
Are you saying you want to pay less for hours of their hard work if you can get away with it? I think it's very questionable- I'd even go as far as to say it's saddening- to say you "hate" having to pay a lot because other people value someone's craft more than you apparently do.
Also stupid price has already been done, GJ Art whoars.
I don't think it's fair to call any price a stupid price, especially when ingame bells are the currency in question. Even ignoring the fact there's no controlled supply of bells (obviously, as is necessary for an endless, predominantly single player video game), there is no way to distinguish counterfeit bells from legitimately earned ones. Effectively, no bell really means anything. Sure, you can trust people to not dupe for their bells, but when people are given the advice to dupe in order to get bells on this very forum, I dunno.
It's saying that there's a limit on how much imaginary money hours of real life work can be worth.
Even with the meaninglessness of bells aside I also don't think it's fair to call any price a stupid price because it is
great for an artist if people willingly want to pay a premium for their work, it is wonderful for their ego!! It makes artists feel bad if you say things that they infer to mean they are being paid too much, or being paid an otherwise unfairly gratuitous amount.
Obviously I cannot speak for the artist here but if someone wanted to pay me a lot for art, but then someone else said that was a stupid price even if it was not in all seriousness, I know I would feel awkward and bad regardless. Especially when, as the artist said in their post, it is a main source of income. As an artist, I know how hard it is to have art as your job.
Anyway, lapaa, you have lovely artwork!! The colors are gorgeous, the thickness of the lines is great and it's a really nice style. Whatever currency people pay you in, you deserve the most they can offer.
