When looking for special tree stumps is there a difference between the two? I have a golden axe which I've gotten special stumps with I'm just wondering if I need a silver one as well. Thanks in advance. :)

iirc, golden has a higher chance but never breaks, silver is 100% chance but breaks after however many hits. best way to "farm" special stumps is to hit it twice with the gold axe, and then hit it with the silver for the third for the pattern

You'll always get a tree stump pattern with a silver axe. The silver axe will last much longer than a regular axe, but it will eventually break. The gold axe never breaks, but it will only give you a tree stump pattern sometimes.

you're guranteed to have a special stump with a silver axe. with a golden onr, not always.

Silver one you always get special but the axe will break in time. Golden one not always but sometimes and never breaks.

I cut down 8 trees with a gold axe
I kid you not, they were all special stumps

Good to know, thanks everyone! My next question- does anyone have a silver axe they want to sell? :-D

The silver axe lasts longer than a regular axe but a golden axe will NEVER break.

also!! a good way to save your silver axes from breaking for a longer time you can use a regular or golden axe for the two first hits and the silver one for the last. you'll still get a special stump, but you won't have used as many hits :>

Actually I have had more luck finding special stumps using the golden axe than the silver one, not sure if that's just me
