Yessss! Those two were great together, and by themselves as well, of course. But I love Miles' fusion stuff... still trying to understand *****es Brew, but In A Silent Way is an AMAZING record.
oh yes, they were a great combo, but indiidually they were good too. love it when Coltrane plays the soprano sax, he, and Kenny G , infuenced me ino playing the soprano sax. I decision that I as glad I made in the 6th grade.

Cool - Haven't heard much Kenny G, but kudos on listening to the jazz greats. Not many teens listen to this stuff nowadays...

Kenny G isn't that great of an artist, but I like his music. And yeah, I'm "weird" when it comes to music, I like classic rock, jazz, and bluegrass, some pretty different music styles, but it's cool to see how they're all connected, all music is conected to another genre in some way. Of course, I thank my middle school band teacher for that, he was a great teacher, encouraged me to join the middle school jazz and everything. I wish I still had him, but I still see him here and there.

Oh yeah, I hear ya on listening to lots of different music styles; I enjoy everything from flamenco (cante and guitar) to Brazilian to jazz to classical to j-pop to tango to weird world music, etc...

And I agree with you, every genre is connected... especially when you listen to stuff like *****es Brew, a record that combines rock and jazz... I love it when genres are mixed so eloquently.

You know what's interesting about Miles Davis, when he performs a solo, if he makes a mistake, he'll just keep playing it over again like it was never a mistake to begin with, it's funny how he does that.

yeah kinda off topic, but I was just thinking about that.

Yeah! I've done that sometimes -- it's like compensating for the mistake, make it seem correct. Even when the audience can tell that it's an obvious mistake, the musician's instinct is to repeat it. It's weird...
