Has any one watched the "trailer" for this? Oh man. I can't sleep at night any more. My life has renewed purpose. All I could think about was how amazing this game has to be or else I set every video game in the world on fire.

Dude, I've got killer news for you.

The last few games were American. The Japanese team (who did 1, 2, 3 and 4) are on this one. I'm totally sold on the PS4 too, I LOVED the SH series. Err... I mean, I haven't tried any thing after half way through the 5th one, but still.

I really hope they don't screw this up. I know Kojima is working on it and I love that guy to bits, but there's the addition of del Toro and I honestly can't think of anything great he's done in the past few years besides Pacific Rim. He did make Pan's Labyrinth and The Orphanage, so I'm hoping that if he's the one writing the story he'll be able to channel that creepiness into Silent Hills.

Also I really hate all the playthroughs of Silent Hills PT on YouTube because they're all babies. Only Crit1kal was able to make a good video about it because he doesn't bend to that "if I scream like a girl a lot this video will be entertaining" mentality. I hardly get afraid of these games myself and enjoy them for the creepy atmosphere, so I get really annoyed when see people play horror games and acting so scared that I start wondering how clean their underwear is.

Do you have a source for this? Team Silent doesn't exist anymore, and most of the people that worked in that team are now employed by other companies, so I'm wondering who exactly it is you're talking about.

If you wanna get mad about original themes being used, look at Origins. That game was terrible and built directly on SH1. All Kojima did was use a bit of music, most likely to have people connect it more easily with those great games they played.

That having been said... if Silent Hills is crap then I just give up. I won't play SH games anymore. I haven't even played Downpour and Homecoming, but then I really quit.

It's not that I'm mad at Kojima for working on the game. If anything, he seems like the only modern developer who can pull it off after years of American sludge wearing it down.
I'm angry because it's toying with my emotions, violating something as sacred (yes it's sacred leave me alone) as the first game.

I'm also angry it's PS4 exclusive because I'm not gonna drop a wad of cash for a glorified trash can. I already have a Wii U for that.

I played the demo and it's awesome. Almost peed a few times, but that's a good thing.. I think xD
I've always loved horror games and I'm really excited for this one.

Homecoming actually wasn't that bad! I played it, and it was true to the creepy SH ambiance we've all grown to love. I didn't finish it, because I got stuck on one of those stupid dumb fricken Sliding Puzzles.

I sat there moving the thing around for like an hour before I just gave up. I would like to see it through some times though, it was challenging, played ok, and was down right creepy.

I guess if you look at it that way, it's true. But it was still a pretty freaky, and well made game! I'd suggest at least trying it before you knock it. I'm not saying it was any where near as good as 1-4, but I still enjoyed it.

Whoa, thats pretty intense. Is this going to play like the other silent hill games, or is it going to be a first person type as we've seen in the PT and this video? I'd assume it'd have to be like the other SHs, if Norman Reedus is the character model.

There was a mirror in the P.T. so that may be how you see your character model if it does end up being FPV. I'm hoping that it doesn't end up like another Shattered Memories though, where all you can do is run. I'd rather want a return to the format from the Team Silent games.
