I went to play Animal Crossing New Leaf just now and saw the dreaded "save file has been corrupted" message. This is the first time this has ever happened to me, so it was bound to happen..

*sigh* Dang it.

I'm so sorry that happened ;n;

Your next town, if you decide to restart, will be even better than the one you lost

Ow, that sucks balls. Any idea what might have caused it? Did you turn off the game while it was still saving? Did you take out the SD card while your 3DS was still on? Did the game card pop out while you were playing?

Don't let this get you down too much, though. Starting a new town can be really exciting, too. See it as an opportunity to make things even better than in your last town. :)

Wait, is getting the "corrupeted" so common? Never go it myself, and to my Knowledge you get one if you turn off your DS when saving right? Or is there any other way to get that error?

I bet! :( Are you gonna try and recreate the town again? Or just create a brand new town?

I'm gonna recreate Ecruteak, but I'm gonna try something new. What bums me the most was that I lost 5 dreamies..

I think I may have done something while the game was saving last night, I was pretty tired.

Time to spend the next five hours looking for the perfect town layout, I guess! XD

That bites... I'm always super careful when the game is saving or the loading train icon is on the screen. Even then, I know sometimes things just happen. So I decided not too long ago that if my town ever corrupted, I'd simply start over. Same town, but maybe with a different name. I know more now that when I started, so it wouldn't be too hard to get going again on the idea of making an even better town. It took a year for me to decide a theme this first go. Next time, I'd already know. And this is such a nice community, I know just about anything you need, someone will help--whether it's items, dreamies, etc.

You're right though. The hardest part would be getting a new map. I'd want mine to be exactly the same! (And maybe plot resetting.)

EDIT: Good luck with your new town! May you never forget the first, but may your new one be even better! :blush:
