Should villagers talk about past villagers?

I think that once a villager leaves, the other villagers don't even remember them. I've never seen any dialogue about a past villager. Also, I got Chief and Phoebe from the same town, where they were next-door neighbors, and there was never any dialogue about, "Wow, never thought I'd see Chief again!"

Would you want your villagers to reminisce about past villagers, or would it be too painful if it's a villager you lost accidentally? Like, Pekoe says to you, "I sure do miss Lolly!" And you had loaded up one day to find Lolly unexpectedly gone, so that makes you feel bad.

Like when I destroyed one of my mules all of my villagers pretended like nothing happened, even though they still wear the designs

I like the idea. A lot of the dialog gets so repetitious sometimes, I think little quirks like this would be nice. I can see how it would make people sad or annoyed though, especially if the villager was accidentally lost or extremely disliked.
I think it'd be cute if they mentioned seeing past villagers shopping in mainstreet too.
Them recognizing someone from the same town would be lovely. ^^

Yes! this is one thing ive always wanted implemented...
They could say they went to visit them in their new town etc

I would love this to happen! It sadden me that Zell left unexpectedly and nobody mention nor miss him at all except me. Like total erase of his existence in this town....I wish they could talk about some of the past villagers just something simple like "I wish Marshal would be back to visit us!"

Yeah even something similar to how they talk about their old town "I wonder how everyone in ___ is doing these days" they could just say "I wonder how our old friend ___ is doing" I feel pretty sad that their existence is just erased from a town when they leave :c

I think this would be sweet. It might annoy or sadden people due to unwanted villagers/accident move-aways that might have occured, but it would be pretty nice. Especially if the villagers were good friends. I love seeing villagers interact with each other during dialogue, I'd like to relate to them about missing certain villagers, too ^-^

That's a good idea, but at the same time there are some villagers I don't want to be reminded of.

It also sucks that any info about the villager is completely removed forever. (Well, not really, since cycling and main street, but yknow what i mean) If you sit on the town tree, it removes the date when they moved in

Having them on Main Street is kind of worthless. It'd be nice if they could at least have as much of a conversation as animals do with visitors to town. Every day saying, "I'm surprised to see you! I'm just in town shipping." gets old. I'm already tired of having Lucha back every day, LOL.
