Should ‘New Horizons’ consolidate its buildings?

An idea came to me:

If the island size does not increase, perhaps future buildings could become remodels of current buildings for consolidation.

This would save on the number of individual buildings and the space used by game players of “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”

If you miss Brewster and others, from “New Leaf,” add them to the current buildings.

I will show a map of my island. It is above. And my currently designed layout makes them neighbor each other on what is a Main Street.

Imagine:

Museum
• Add second-floor left and right rooms: one for gyroids; one for The Roost Cafe (and serve more than coffee!)
• Add a third floor for Celeste. (Include rooms, just like those available in “New Leaf,” for exhibit/storage.)

Residential Services
• Add a second floor, center entrance, for the Post Office
• Add second-floor left and right rooms for Fortune Teller Katrina and Dream Suite hostess Luna
• Add a basement for the Police Station

Nook’s Cranny
• Have Timmy and Tommy be on separate floors, like in “New Leaf,” with one on the main floor and the other on the second floor
• Add a third floor for the Garden Shop for Leif
• Add a basement for Re-tail (welcoming back Reese and Cyrus, who should be able to change the colors of those furniture items, like the espresso machine, to what you are wanting)

Able Sisters
• Keep Sable and Mable on the first floor
• Add a second floor for Label
• Bring back Gracie, and give her the third floor
• Assign the basement to Kicks

Admittedly, one may want to revise some of these suggestions. (I did not include…everything and everyone.)

I think what I am getting at could be of help.

Yes and no. The Museum, Able Sisters and Nook's are fine on their own, but I think Brewster's should be inside the museum, Leif in Nook's, and Label and Kicks at Able Sister's.

That would allow for Sahara, Gulliver, Redd, CJ, and Flick to show up once a week.

Dream suite should either be added to the airport, or "Would you like to sleep?" could be added to any lay down item in your house and you dream.

The rooms in the museum were for exhibits, not storage. I know most folks just put crap in them but they have so much potential as exhibit rooms.

Or just have a huge shopping center that has everything in one place.

Museum, Resident Services, Mall.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad idea at all and would probably work out really well for lots of people! Personally I just wouldn’t appreciate it too much, since adding second and third floors to all those buildings would likely change their exteriors into tall, urban structures. That modern style I’m imagining would definitely go against the rural small town aesthetic of my Island.

Basically, I’d rather have to reorganize my layout to make room for additional buildings than have to scrape my entire aesthetic because the old buildings get updated*

* I realize that exterior updates are a risk anyway, but I hope that they won’t impact buildings much aside from Nook’s Cranny

Omg no >.<
You’ve just described my nightmare lol

I'm pretty confident that some of the new stuff will indeed be in building upgrades, others might get new buildings. That's the way they did it in New Leaf, anyway!

Ah yes, a new end-game upgrade that puts a roof over the entire island and combines it all into a shopping centre with apartments and offices, also the beach is now entirely asphalt to facilitate the dodos who have traded their old seaplanes in for jumbo-jets that blow out your speakers every three minutes.

I can't wait, make it happen Nintendo :)
