i'm really unhappy with my town layout, and three of my dreamies are in locations that i'm very unhappy with.
like my town has no space for anything and it's just, siuhogiusheosihgosg
idk what to do
should i just work with what i got, or start over and hope for the best?
my entire town btw = dreamies ;__;
im tempted to go out and buy a new copy of acnl to transfer over my villagers and stuff

I think it depends on how long you've had it. I have my first town for a good year but I restarted because BLEH...I got sick of it. I didn't play for two months and I had to tell myself "come on, go play". Forced fun...yuck. I restarted to get a better feel of the game. If you think you won't enjoy the game and the flaws are holding back to much, go ahead.

Try relandscaping first and see what you can do with that. That's just changing the paths, hybrids, and the flora (flowers and trees), there's no moving out the villagers or running to the ABD and see how that goes. I think that your situation is fixable without resetting.

i've had my game for... oh god. since the day it came out. and i've only had one town, too. i play the game a lot and i don't mind playing it, it's just SUCH a hassle when i'm trying to set paths, get new villagers in, and place pwps. like i can't do anything.

i have done that at least 4 times and it's still the same - poop

I felt the same way you do before I restarted! My town layout was pretty bad and my town had no central theme. I only had a couple of my dreamies and really only wanted to keep pics so I restarted! There were some moments where I was slightly upset but now I am so happy I reset! I say just go for it! I restarted in May and have had my town pretty much back to the way it was for about 2 months now

I restarted about, 3 months ago? I actually feel a lot more intrigued to play, but I took my prized possessions with me before I restarted (My money, Princess Set, Hybrids), but it depends. Make a list on what you like and don't like. (Town Layout, Dreamies, PWP, House Location, etc) I mean, at times, it is possible to move villagers. (I'm really sad because Marshal, one of my dreamies, moved into the WRONG SPOT! I have to try to remove him.....) I think you can fix it. I think resetting is when you have accomplished alot, or have gotten tired of playing the same thing. :) But if you need any help re landscaping, you can send me a message and I'll help!

If the gameplay becomes a hassle, it's not a game, it's a task. In your case, judging by how you describe your town as something god-awful, I'd say restart. But, before restarting, take your possestions (gold tools, hybrids, etc) and have someone hold them for you. Be warned you may spend HOURS finding that perfect town map.
Keep in mind:
-Town Map
-Native Fruit
-Grass Shape
-Re-Tail Location
-Split/Connected Beach
-Town Hall Placement
-Your House Placement
-Town Plaza Placement
These things are usually what bother people about their towns.

truthfully i don't mind taking time to choose a map, because i know once i find the right map i'll be very happy with it.
it's a lot of work but it's kind of worth it, you know?
yeah i'll need to find someone to hold onto my items. truthfully i think i just want to buy another acnl game, and move everything there. then i can just turn this cartridge into a dreamie cycling town game poop file **** thing hahaha

i just made a mini list on my computer and there're more pros than cons, but the cons are weighted pretty heavily so.. :(
i don't really need help landscaping, but i may shoot you a pm if i need someone to hold onto my items n__n

Get someone to hold all of your stuff (villagers too if they can)
And doooo it
I reset my town and I'm so happy I did, my new town is so much better than my old one

yeah i'm sure i'll be mourning for a little while but i'll be fine after i get everything going. i'm gonna miss the emporium, katrina, bla bla bla. whatever. and i'm really glad you're happy now n_n

If you ever do decide to restart find someone trustable to hold your items for you. I can recommend Freckles and badcrumbs who were so lovely as to let me use their towns to hold and transfer my items to my second town.

There's also those who will hold your dreamies for you as well. I can only think of PandaNikita at this time.

I've felt like restarting my main town as well, but thankfully I was able to work with it, but I still got myself a second copy since I wanted to experience a new town and new villagers. Good luck on your decision! (:

Feel free too :> I haven't made a dream address just yet though.
We can wifi (when I'm not slammed with studying and homework)

I also have a cycling town if you want me to hold some villagers when I'm free~

haha alright, do let me know when you're available alright?
oh please let me know when you are, i need someone (lots of someones) to hold onto my babies

If you're far enough into the game, you shouldn't. You can always redo the paths, and next time, you could try plot resetting!

i've redone my paths numerous times and nothing is working out well.
and the other three dreamies in bad placements (by luck) randomly moved in, so there's nothing i can do. and i'm already cycling out 16 villagers for shari and 7 for genji, i'm not about doing that stuff again :(

Dreamies can be kept though, you just have to go through the semi-long process of cycling them out. Or you could just buy them again.

yeah i don't want to buy them again, because if i start over i'll need a lot of bells to upgrade things. i gotta find someone to hold onto them for me
