Heyo, I've been somewhat a hoarder in almost animal crossing games and I've already run out of space for my stuff, even with the additional space the welcome amiibo update provided. I'm considering selling ALL my furniture (excluding season/year/expensive exclusives) and re-buying what I want from the catalog. but I need a second opinion- Please tell me what I should do because I'm on the fence about it.

Oooof same dilema
Create more characters for space. Though even with that I somehow managed to still completely fill their closest.
At this point, I just pretty much sell things that doesn’t fit. I’ve become such a hoarder that it’s impossible to find items I need so I end up having to rebuy them.

I would but my sister and friends have the other two character slots. Also, I swear I have like 5 kiddie closets somewhere.

I have a hoarding problem as well, so I set some rules for myself. If an item is orderable and I have no immediate plans to use it, I sell it. If an item is unorderable, I carefully consider whether or not I might actually use it at some point in the future. If not, I sell it.

So, for the most part, the only items I have in storage are unorderables that I think I may have a use for at some point. That still takes up quite a bit of space, but it's more manageable.

In short, I don't necessarily think you should sell everything, but if you can reorder it or don't think you'll use it, then go ahead and get rid of it to clear some space.

Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like a good plan, but I know that I’ll think I’ll need every piece of furniture at some point but I’ll try to list out what I don’t or won’t need.

Also if anyone wants to know how bad it's gotten. pls help.

Sell all the reorderable items. You can always go on moridb.com and make lists to keep track of pieces you know you will want to reuse in the future, making it easier for you to remember what to buy off the catalogue. I like to de clutter once in a while because I hate going through pages and pages of useless items. I only keep unorderable items and refurbished furniture.

I've been using the 2nd Floor museum but only letting myself use 3 rooms. The Post Office isn't really my ideal place for storage to be honest as it'd be a hassle to take the letters out of the box, check what the item is, decide if I want to use it and put the mail back in. I don't want that to be necessary for me, so that's why I've decided on selling more things rather than finding more room to store them, that's why I'm forbidding my self from using the 4th room as an excuse to keep more furniture.

Just don't know how to go about this-
I'll see later on in the week.

Sell anything that's reorderable, and then go through the remaining (rare) items and determine if you really need them or not, and then go sell that bunch as well. I've had the same problem multiple times and found that this method works best for me. Good luck! :)

If you can reorder it easily enough then there isn't much reason to hold onto it.

I would only sell what is not needed. Like everyone else said, if it's something you think you would need in the future, than it's definitely worth keeping, but if it's not, sell it.

I tend towards being a hoarder--I've been dividing stuff amongst different characters, but at some point I'm going to have more stuff than will fit in everyone's house/closet/secret room and will start selling off items I don't like. Reorderable shirts are about the only place I'm good about not stuffing a copy into storage, and even then it's iffy.

Definitely keep all the rare and unorderable items. Then just do a big sell of anything you can reorder! Start with selling items you know you will never use or display anywhere. You can always reorder those again. Then get the best items you want, mainly the more interesting items and rare catalog items that are either expensive or worth having easy access to show people. Decorate your house and upstairs museum, that will save some space as well. Just make sure you sell the duplicates, as long as they aren’t very rare! After you get all the items you want and think you will use, then you can store as many other items that you want :) the best thing to do is just try to fill your catalog so you can get anything you want. Space is limited on this game for sure. Maybe if you can convince your other residents in your village to store items that would help :) It’s easy to collect a lot and I do it as well, but space will really fill up fast

After thinking it through, I've decided to go with what you all have come up with, I am going to sell all the re-orderable items and keep the valuable, rare, unrecoverable items. Thanks to everyone who've helped me with this dilemma and help me decide. I shall start cleaning up today! Thank you once again for taking your time to help me decide and give me tips.

Before you do, did you pass all your fashion checks by Gracie?

Yes I have, I have unlocked everything in Main street, and all the tools. Only thing I need is high HHA score and the badges. :D

PokeBank but for Animal Crossing should definitely be a thing with how much furniture we all have!
