Ive been thinking this for the past 2 weeks :/ I really dont like my town layout- its quite hard to place some pwps and that now etc.
The only thing is I like my characters and ive made it so far now :/ Ive payed for some of my villagers (not too much but enough) Ive collected a hell of a lot of stuff and ive collected a hell of a lot of hybrids etc :/ ive upgraded my houses ALOT etc.

What should I do? I know i can find people to hold some stuff but the thing is i really want ALL of my stuff haha I probs have enough bells to do all my houses upgrades etc And I know it wont take me too long to get so far now I know tips etc

I think if you really hate your layout you should restart, because you're just going to keep on disliking it, and then the farther you get the more you'll not want to. And if you've been thinking that for 2 weeks, that quite a long time. I might be able to hold all your stuff for you if you do decide to restart. : )

I think if you really are unhappy with it, which it seems like you are since you've been thinking about it for the past two weeks i'd reset. Maybe you're leaning more towards resetting, but maybe you could try making your map work? The thing is with placing PWPs and such is that the town isn't very big to begin with so no matter what layout you choose there's always going to be complications. It's even more complicated when placing PWPs especially with how picky Isabelle can be. I think if there's things like rocks in your way for potential PWPs then fair enough, i'd probably reset too. Also it'd be better if you quit while you were ahead, rather than upgrade your houses to the fullest because then it'd just give you more reason not to reset because you have items and the full house upgrade which I know is a pain to upgrade. I personally find it very confusing.

If you want all of your stuff i'm sure there's some nice people on here who'll hold all of it, if not some and if you can't find somebody to hold all you can spread it out equally between a couple of users that you trust. I say go for it! if you have enough bells to just upgrade your house again, there's nothing to lose really since you'll probably get back to the progress you were making in no time. Whenever I reset, I don't really bother taking hybrids. For me I just find them easy to breed once I have two or more so I don't bother taking more than that. Maybe only take two of each?

For villagers, i'm sure you'll find somebody who'll hold them for you. Maybe not the entire town, but maybe you could possibly prioritize by villagers that you had the most trouble finding on the forums. I say this because sometimes villagers like Julian or Marshal you can get back really easily, because they're sold so often. Hope this helped a bit! :)

Yeah I am very unhappy with my town- its demotivated me into actually working on a lot of my town :/ some of it is the rocks- in just one area theres like 3 rocks were nothing can go except flowers etc. Also the river layout- it goes in like a ? shape but rotated anticlockwise so its really awkward- it takes up like a quarter of my town and not much can be fitted on the other side of it as it is but also the houses on it makes it even more awkward! And the 3 seperate ponds set outs add to the awkwardness! I have tried with a few demolishes of houses and plot resetting, building and demolishing pwps to make things work but my town just looks messy and all over the place and i know it can be so much better.

I think im going to decide in the time it takes to borrow my friends DS, whether i reset. I think I will just take a few hybrids with me and try to transfer the rare villagers like you said.
I think its also just the amount of hours ive played on it! Like I have played on it for so many hours and the effort ive put in and that which is one of the main reasons why i was unsure. But youre right it doesnt take long to upgrade etc especially when ill have the money

Thanks for your help!

After reading that post I still dont know! Aha! Ahh I suppose there is still some time to think

Remember that PWPs take a long time to unlock so think twice about that before resetting. I'm not sure if there is an easy way to move all the clothing and furniture you want to keep.

I didnt exactly unlock many PWPs as it is- so thats not an issue really hahaha

I restart all the time. I ask someone to hold my items for me so I don't have to pay for them again (especially if I paid in tbt). As for villagers, I just get them again from either my own cycle town, or by paying for them again and getting them from someone else.

If you transfer over as much as you can, you won't have to pay too much to make up for your losses. If you really hate the layout of your town, I would suggest restarting.

Going by personal experience I would say not to restart...I regret it everytime lol. I forever wish I kept the first ever NL town I had and I restarted basically for the same reason, because of layout. But to this day I miss the town dearly.

If you really truly are unhappy, then maybe it would be best for you to do it. But I would definitely say think long and hard and maybe even make a pros and cons list about doing it.

Hope I didnt confuse you more :c good luck on whichever you decide to do

Thanks guys for all you're input. Really appreciate it. I think I'm going to create a new town on my other SD card, get the layout and everything to how id like etc. Then see how it goes from there :) thank you
