I've been thinking about restarting my town for a few days and want some opinions on the matter. I know a lot of people restart but don't regret it. But I have a bunch of things and I payed a lot for my dreamies (250BTB for Merengue and 100 BTB for Pietro) and I have villagers that I love so much and one of the is a tier one and would be hard to get back! I used to love my town, but once I started seeing other towns and other options... I would like to change the town name and just redo a lot. But, I just don't know. I might just buy another copy of the game to do stuff with but... what you think?

I bought a second copy, and I'm so glad I did. Mainly I purchased it for villager cycling, but you could restart and make THAT your main town and move your favorite villagers over!

I had the same dilemma last year, and I chose to buy a new game and it was definitely worth it. c:

Having a second copy may be best. Or if you can, back up your first town somewhere safe.
If you really wanna just delete your town, maybe ask someone to hold your dreamies so you can reclaim them after you get your new town up and running? I'm sure there are people out there who would gladly do it (I would, but sadly I lack the space).
Or maybe you'll find yourself wanting entirely new dreamies. Who knows?

Do what you want, but maybe start planning now and decide what you want to do and who you want in your town~

Also used copies are like 20-26 dollars so it's really not that expensive to grab another copy xD

Buy a new game or just cut all the trees, swipe your paths, demolish the pwps and place your flowers on the beach and start all over :) That's what I would do

if you can't buy another copy, you could always sell your dreamies and make enough tbt to buy them again. also, if you offer money/tbt a lot of people are kind enough to hold them in their towns, then give them back when you want.

^^^^
I would restart, if you're unhappy with it now, you'll be unhappy with it forever which is why i'm going to restart even though i already achieved 2 dreamies. Going to sell them so i can buy them again after i restart.

Restarting was the best choice I've ever made. A fresh start is great if you haven't played for awhile. I didn't transfer anything over because that'd null the fun (although I did have a friend of mine hold one of every fruit so I didn't have to bother anyone).

If you really want to, you can continuously create a new character following your first day and restart that character until you get a 6th villager you really like. Zell was my favorite from my last town and I got him on my 7th restart.

To be honest, if you choose to not reset, the thought will never go away. As time goes by, you'll probably regret doing it sooner.
To make you feel better, I recently reset my town that had all tier 1 villagers who were my dreamies. Yep, I was really unhappy with the layout and everything so I did it. I have two games though. So, my opinion, is that you should either reset or get a new game instead of not resetting at all.

If you do decide to restart you can have some ody hold you villagers for you. But if youre.toying with the idea of getting a second copy just do that. Your main town will always have something special about it bc it was naive and free of outside influences, and you can keep working with what you have and improving. Your second town can be the more ideal and inspired. If you put a lot of work into it don't restart just bc you've seen what other people have done!

If you don't restart your game, you'll constantly be wondering if you should. On the other hand, if you restart it, you might regret it. So, if you have the money, I think buying a second copy of the game would be the best option.

I think you should buy another copy.

If you're tired of your town, you can always redecorate your town and houses. Give it a whole new look.

Hello! I always have the same problem. Should I restart or not? I think you shouldn't restart. It sounds like you've worked really hard to get the town you have now. I'm currently saving up to get a new copy of the game, and I feel like it will be really fun to have two towns! Anyways, on to your problem again. I think you should buy a new copy like I am saving up to do. I have 20bucks xP, so yeah. Hopefully you listen to us, and just get a new copy. And this is coming from a girl who restarts all the time. I just restarted today. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep my town.. I promise you! :)

If buying a new copy of the game is an actual option, just go for that! With two cartridges you will be able to do pretty much whatever you'll want!
Two birds with one stone, as they say, eh..! (:

I had the same problem, seeing towns and I really wanted my town to look like that, and once I restarted it was still pretty much the same as my other towns (I guess I dont have the talent for decorating towns, haha) but I bought a second game and it's helped me, and if you have a second ds (or you could borrow one from a friend) you can transfer your stuff over so you can have stuff to begin with, or if you wanted to restart AND buy a new game

there is a resetting thread for exactly this purpose with plenty of people on it if you want to ask people in similar positions

I think I'm going to buy another copy. I might turn it into a cycling town (I always wanted to try that!)and just make it really pretty - thanks so much for all your advice!
