One of my friends basically told me to restart because my house isn't near Re-Tail, I have no clue where to put Brewster's and the plaza isn't next to town hall. And also because I don't have a bridge going straight to the dock. I went into the game not knowing much and just randomly picked a town, thinking it didn't matter.

I don't know if I should. I really dislike my town. And I'm not sure if my pros outweigh the cons.

-My house placement is alright but I'm not 100% loving it.
-My town in a nutshell is not that difficult to work with but I can never find a place for PWPs and my villagers are spread out everywhere.
-I won't lose my items or bells since I can stash them at my boyfriends town when he gets back from his dads.
-HHA only has a few houses.

But I'm worried about these:
-I've made a lot of progress with in the month I've played regarding fish, fossils, etc.
-Basically wasting bells on the few PWPs I built and house upgrades.
-Losing my catalog.
-Losing badges and emotions.
-Losing Marshal and Fuchsia. I love the both of them. (Marshal living by me is the only reason that is making my house bearable).

Should I restart? I'd really like to hear your opinions.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't like your town... But at a point in time, I didn't like my town. My all time dreamie just moved away, and I just didn't think I wanted to play without her. My house is right next to a cliff, so everything is cramped, and my house is all the way across the town from retail! So is my docks, and it isn't straight. I was getting ready to press the restart button, but then... I realized... I did so much on my game, did so much to my home, that I was willing to throw it all away? That all my dreamie hunting, event running, and the time I spent on Rosetown? So I didn't. I decided to keep it, and look where I'm at now! I have all but two dreamies, made a tumblr account about my town, and I am now getting into the pro-design scene. All I'm saying is just give your town a little more time, and you will end up lovin it, even if you have a lot of flaws~ <3 and a tip: Don't fall victim to peer pressure! :o It's your town, don't let what your friends tell you influence anything you do! Unless it's a good thing. xD

I restarted because of one reason only: I found myself no longer playing the game.
If you find yourself no longer enjoying the game because you dislike your town, then it's an easy fix just restart. ^.^ Everything can be accomplished again, and all the items you got can be held by someone you trust, or even a player from here(with a good rating ofc).

Tip: Do some villager cycling for a little bit before you restart, to make some bells for your new town. That's what I did for a about a week, and I ended up getting more bells than I needed(about 80M).

Don't restart it today.

I'd like to visit your town.

Do you have a Dream Address?

The house is not next to re tail, so? Thats not a reason for me to restart, if retail matter at all it would be next to the dock to sell the beetle faster or close to the train station for holding turnips sales, and even if you need a house next to retail you can create a second character and place it next to it. I did that as I use the retail method for payments and placed an ABD on the house.

You make the town the way you want it, not like someone else wants it, thats the deal about the game.

^ This is the best response! ^

I was curious to check out the town in case it has a Dream Address. (If not?okay.)

Villagers everywhere isn't a problem. It makes your town unique. Lemme tell you visiting a village with all 10 villagers lined up neatly in the same spot is boring. I don't even walk around and explore when villagers are all in the same spot. Cramped villagers take the excitement out of exploring villages. Remember Animal Crossing is all about the animal villagers. It's not about perfect house placements.

i've restarted a few times, and honestly i wouldn't do it at all if the game still feels fresh and fun to you. the only reason i restarted is because of a) unfortunate town names and b) boredom. if you aren't bored with your town, don't reset just yet!

I think you should keep your town.

I know how it feels too.
My dock isn't straight, it's hard to pick good PWP locations, and my house is way far from not only Re-tail, but Town hall and Brewster's Cafe, too! Why should it stop me and you, though? There's so many accomplishments you've made, keep at it! ~ :)

well first of all, you started off this reset thread by saying your friend basically swayed you into thinking you ought to reset. they planted the seed of doubt. i say, no. i wouldn't reset just yet. try to work around some of the things that you dislike for a while, focus on the things you do like. if then you still wish to reset, then yes.

but honestly right now it just sounds like your friend is the one who convinced you to think like this.
