Should I Restart My Town?

So I've had ACNL since it first came out, but after a while of playing I put it down. I recently started playing again at the start of this year and I can't decide whether to make a fresh start or not. I want to change the name of my town and mayor, also I don't care for my layout of the town much. But I like three of the villagers I have and don't want to lose my shop upgrades. But I also feel like the more I do now, the harder it will be to reset later. At the same time I don't want to get so close to having most shops upgraded just to start again. What should I do?

That's about where I'm at right now. :x I'm thankful that the two dreamies I have aren't very high on the tier list at all, so I should be able to get them back fairly quickly. Perhaps for the villagers, you could check up on TBT for getting them back? Alternatively, you might just want to try out a new town with entirely new villagers. Who knows? You might find some new favorites! As for the shops, do bells spent by visitors help to add to the total? If so, you could maybe go to the Train Station forum and ask for visitors to come by and shop. Good luck!
