Should I restart my town?

I'm debating on whether or not starting back from scratch. Now, it's not because I'm not happy with my villagers, I simply don't like the lay out I picked for the place that much and the name is not that fitting ether. :(

The thing that holds me from doing so is that I do love the villagers I have (except Hippeux) and I have put some hours on the game as it is.

so, should I just keep going strong or start over?

Edit: Went with restarting, thanks everyone!

I've been there too. I got bored of my old town, so that's why I restarted. If I were you, I'd restart. If you don't like the name nor layout then just start over. You can ask people from the community to hold your villagers, or you can find your villagers again in the cycling threads. I'm sure you will get the villagers back. :)

I did today for similar reasons c: I lost all the villagers but managed to save the important stuff. If you feel like you can get all your villagers back, I'd recommend restarting bc you want to kinda already and you will probably be able to get a better layout and such the next time around

True, the only issue would be having connection trouble with other players which I gotten a few times. Hmm, is a tough choice really, New leaf is my first AC game and I gotten so into it.

Unless you really, really don't want to, I would restart. Though it made be hard, you can always get those villagers you love back. Villagers are replaceable, the town layout is not (unless you restart, obviously).

If you are having these mixed feelings with your current town, I'd restart. You'll only be thinking about restarting no matter if you carry on playing. Once you have that thought in your head and you know you are not happy, it's hard to carry on with your town.
I do hope you are able to get some of your villagers back but villagers are replaceable :)

Let us know what you decide :)

You can think of it as a fun challenge to find your favourite villagers again. The members with cycling towns will definitely be able to help you get them back. Items are replaceable, too. If you feel like you'd enjoy your town more with a different layout and name, it's most likely worth it.

True, there is also a chance I might get more villagers I like a bit more. (Though Zell cannot be replace, lol)

The layout I have is just a very long curvey river and it annoys me when trying to make work projects. Would it be a good idea if I change my 3ds date back to September(when I first began) then put it back to January? Never really attempted time travel before.

But then you still have the same layout as before, so I am not sure if that will help. And you might lose your villagers.

Time traveling is also a risk. If you go too far, you'll lose villagers you love as well, and if you don't have the Garden Ordinance lots of weeds will spawn.

Alright, so I restarted it, hurt a bit, but I don't want to have anymore regrets.

I found a nice new town with plenty of space and easy to go around. The villagers really surprise me, I got Kid Cat, Margie,Vic, Robin and Freckles (Bleh). Name it Windfall after Windfall island from the legend of zelda. Town fruit is apples which I'm glad since I love them. :)

Thanks for the help guys, feels great starting fresh.

Nice villagers! I felt regret when I restarted once. It was 10pm and I didn't know what I was doing lol I had a good layout so yeah why did I do that. After sobbing until the afternoon i finally got on with it and made my town look nice

Thanks, I feel the same. I just wanted a much better looking town, at least now I have more knowledge on what to do.

Since you are contemplating this already, your mind is already half way from making up your mind. So why not restart? You brought it up meaning you aren't happy with it, why would you otherwise? It's up to you though...
