Hey guys, I need some advice. I’ve been playing NH for about 100 hours but I’ve been thinking of restarting my island because I didn’t like what I named my character and island. I’m not too attached to my villagers, and for my bells and items I can just move them to another friend’s island and get it back if I restarted. But I’ve already invested quite a bit into my island, but I can’t help but feel like I want to restart. It’s been on my mind for a while and I almost did it today, but stopped before doing it. What do you guys think?

I find myself wanting to change my island and villager name all the time, but I have too much to lose. I’d do it!

I think it really depends how badly you dislike your names. You can have an entire new set of villagers a year from now, but you're stuck with those names. Personally I think it matters whether you don't connect with the names or whether you won't dislike your next set of names.

I think you should restart. I restarted it and it was the best decision I ever made. Even found my dreamy as one of my starter villagers. Now my island is perfect and I love everything about it (minus the short pier).

My advice to you is make sure you know what you are looking for in your new island. Meaning knowing the layout you want, the fruit, flowers, airport colors, location of residental services, and villagers you want. It make take an hour or 12 but make sure it your ideal island.

Do some research and then reset. You won't ever get away from feeling bad if you keep your current island. And your character name and island is very important.

As painful as it is, it's better to reset with only 100 hours than say 500 hours or even more. It would be incredible if we were allowed to change our name and island name, but we can't, so it's very important that you like the names you picked out to begin with. That's one of the things I don't like about AC games cause I'm a super indecisive person. I love the names I have now but I'm afraid I'm not going to a couple months from now.

It's ultimately up to you. I wish you luck!
