Alright guys so originally I had decided that come this summer once I can get a job and stuff, I?d just buy another AC:NL copy to start a new town but? I?m starting to re-think that. I want to start on a new town and this summer just seems so far away. There are a few reasons as to why I wouldn?t mind resetting my town though..
My drawers are COMPLETELY full. Like, it?s such a mess and even going through everything to try and work on decorating my house is just ugh.
Oh, and there are trees everywhere. I realize I could just chop some down but I just don?t know which ones?? Like everything seems kinda crowded and stuff. And just today a new villager moved in, Ricky, and decided to put his house right in the middle of some trees in an area I was actually pretty happy with. I don?t even like you Ricky like c?mon dude. I?m not a big fan of any of my villagers actually to be honest, I like Hans and Gabi but that?s really about it.
My sister has a copy so I could use that to transfer money, clothes, furniture, and tools I wanna keep to my new game. I have over a million bells at the moment so getting my house started and stuff won?t be a problem.
I even made a little pros/cons chart thing:

Pros:
? Better map
? New villagers
? Can do different PWP?s and in different places
? Can redo my house completely
? Can put trees/bushes/etc in better places (sure, I could just chop down and replant things in my current town but that sounds like so much work. And not the fun kind of work.)
? Different character face/appearance/whatever it?s called
Cons:
? Lose things in the museum
? Lose badges
? Unlocking things (I realize that this really doesn?t take THAT long but that doesn?t make me any less impatient)
? I?ve been playing this town since I got the game when it came out (not counting the month or so after Pokemon came out)

It seems like a good idea when I think about it but then I get on and start playing and I just asdfghjkl; can?t decide. Which is why I?m gonna ask you guys. Here?s my dream address: 5400-2248-1185 check it out if you have time and let me know what you think? Should I restart or should I try to work with what I?ve got here.

I would personally keep the town you have. The tree issue, Ricky, and full drawers can be fixed.
I'm going to visit your dream address right now.

I wish so much that I would have kept my first town...ugh...

You can still do all of the above in your current town though.
I don't see how starting a new town will make any of these things easier - in fact, it'll probably be harder to start from scratch.
But it's really your choice.

Haven't visited your dream address so this is purely theoretical - but I had a tree problem and I solved it by going for a scorched-earth policy and removing every single tree, shrub and flower. If you do that, you can replant whatever and wherever you want to. It'd be just the same problem in a new town which will have random trees all over it, so that's not necessarily a reason to reset.

For storage, I myself only store stuff that's not reorderable. I've only got my one guy in my town, no mules, so I really have to be merciless. One drawer for furniture, one for fruits/ores/misc crap, one for (non-reorderable) clothes. Maybe try the scorched-earth policy with your house, take absolutely everything out and only put your best stuff back? If you can't solve your junk problem now you'll probably get it again anyway sooner or later in a new town...

I would keep the town. I restarted once ane I was so unhapp. Everything is gone - your shops, your catalogue, simply your town where you spent so much time.

I would buy a gold axe and chop down every tree, remove all flowers and destroy all pwps. That's like a restart and you can plan your town :) And you can get ideas from other towns for example ^^

^ This is actually the best advice.
I was also thinking of storing some extra things in the museum (that's what I do with some rare items I don't want clogging up my locker).

I went through a similar scenario. Eventually I decided to clear my town completely of plants/trees, paths and PWPs. Then I cleared my inventory by dumping all the items outside and sold/gave away all my re-orderable items. It was almost like starting all over again but better!

Yes, it was tedious but definitely worth it at the end! ^^
I think it would take longer anyway to start over since the badges, museum and catalogue would also be reset.

Alright, I guess I'll just work with what I've got in this town. I'm sure I can fix it up, It'll take some time but everyone seems to think restarting is a bad idea so I'll just not do it. Thanks guys. :)

I restarted my town but for unchangeble resons, like i lost Bob, Olivia and Cookie, i TT for over a year (like day after day), felt a little boring. Here is my advice from someone
Think. Would you regret it in the end? Would you want to go back to your old layout, town, landscape, flowers, villagers, items, bells? Or would you be glad you restarted, got rid of it all, and got a new layout. A new town, a new set of villagers. New items, new flowers, new/more bells. Just.. take a moment to think if you'd regret it or not. If you don't think you would, do it. If you think you might regret it, think harder and maybe just chill in your town for a bit. You'll decide whether to or not eventually.
