I am debating on if I should reset or not.

Lately I have been finding my self loving some pretty odd villagers. I also find my self loathing some real life stuff. A friend will be holding the ones I have gotten after my change in villager taste. I plan to sell all the villagers I do not want to keep, so I would have a pretty good amount of bells/TBT to get whatever I needed after the fact. When my new town starts I would cycle for a while as well ,so I would built up even more in game bells/TBT.

Pros:
I can get apple as the fruit. Perfect apples look way better than perfect peaches
My river is in a stupid spot and it makes it much harder to have a cool town.
Fresh start would be nice as I regret where I put my campsite and coffee house
General dislike for the way my town is set-up

Cons:
Might take a while to get my villagers back from my friend
Fully upgraded house gone
Fully upgraded nook store gone (this took a long time -_-)
Many things in museum
Would have to get public work projects again

What do y'all think. A few opinions on it would just make me feel better I guess. I am going to start cycling just in case ,just won't move my dream villagers until I am sure.

Sometimes a fresh start is all you need to start really enjoying the game again, even if that means losing everything. I say go for it. Maybe have your friend hold your bells as well? that would be easier to start out again.

It really depends on whether or not you want to go through the effort of doing it all over again. Personally I would rather just get another copy (which I did lol) but it's really up to you

Since the issues with your town mostly consist of permanent things like river shape and campsite placement, I think you should reset. Getting back all your stuff, refilling the museum, and expanding your home may take a while, but its doable.

You can't change your map unless you reset, and it's likely the flaws that bother you now will only bother you more as time goes on.

^^ thats what i did, lol. i get to restart without all the hassle of getting dreamies and all that.

A reset is always the best option if you'be stopped enjoying the game, for whatever reason that may be. For me, if I don't enjoy the game then I won't play it. Then I remember how much the 3DS and the game cost me, and then I start to get angry lol So then I say to myself "If you're not playing the game, then what's the point?". So I end up resetting and enjoy/play the game again. Everything you got and have achieved can be achieved and acquired again.

Personally, I'm not a fan of starting over. Only because you've worked so hard to get to where you are now. I mean sure okay it's doable with getting the game back up to scratch but my thoughts are, if you've spent so much time and effort in the game then just try work around the town you have. If you'd prefer your town to be different then by all means, do a reset but just make sure that if you do, make sure when you're picking the layout of the new one that it'll be the one you like :-)

I'm having the same dilemma... I have put quite a bit of time and effort into my town, but there are some PWP I would like to move and the river annoys me. I'm leaning towards resetting right now but we'll see how I feel tomorrow. :-P

It depends, if you're unhappy with your map and placements of pernament PWPS you should most definitely reset. Chances are, you'll still be unhappy with them say a month from now, as you are currently. So it the map makes you unhappy its definitely time for a change to something that will! ^-^

I'm normally one for trying to work with what you have... but in this case I would say reset. You don't like the map and permanant PWP placements... I think you would be better trying to find a new map that works for you!

It truly is up to you! But what made me reset was because I disliked my old town, it was too hard to landscape with no matter what I tried. Even though I had all my dreamies, ugraded house, and my house was complete, I just couldn't make the landscaping look somewhat nice.

So if you dislike your town and think a fresh start would be better (Which it was for me!) then I say go ahead and reset!
