Should I reset?

Hhmm, maybe it depends on how far you have gone in the game. If it's fairly new, I'd say reset, there's little to lose. But if you have already achieved a lot (badges, unorderables, house expansions, dreamies) I'd think about it for a bit. If this is the case and you really want to reset you can look for people to hold your stuff and dream villagers, and when you have a town you like get them back.
Why do you want to reset? We can't give you much of an opinion if we don't know why you're considering it.
In general, I think it's a good idea if you're unmotivated about your current town and would enjoy playing in a new town more. If you're very unsure, you could always try to play with your current town for a while longer. Unless you have a really bad map with lots of rocks, you can probably try to fix some of the issues with it and be creative. If you still hate the results you can reset, but it's easier to reset a town you dislike than to get back a town you liked but reset.

If your town is being upsetting and making it hard for you to enjoy the game, you probably should reset. What's making you unhappy about your town? Is it your map?

It's not my map, or villagers. I don't know exactly what. >.<
I'll tell you something: There was one person who told me, via PM, that I should reset my first town Applewin. (That was many months, maybe even more than a year, ago.)
The forum member didn't like some particular choice locations; didn't like the paths; and, well, that was enough in that person's mind to advise me to reset Applewin. I went through my first town, which I created when I started "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" on Aug. 17, 2013, and I improved it visually with how it flows; the appearances of those paths (which I have changed more than once because, frankly, I hadn't previously known how to pick up QR codes); and whipped the town into shape with how and where the houses and Public Works Projects are placed.
I'm glad I didn't reset Applewin. I wasn't willing to. I worked on the town, including the museum, and was not going to give it up.
I did do resets to two previous towns: Progress and Temps. I essentially replaced Progress with my second active town, ACNLpics. And Temps has been replaced by a new town, which needs more Public Works Projects before I establish a Dream Address for it, and it is named Foster.
The reason I did resets is because neither town had a good enough direction I could take them in. To me, they felt they like they had no future. I made some mistakes early on. And they couldn't get undone. And then I realized I had better options with opening myself up to brand-new town creations. But, going back to my example with Applewin, it's important to know the difference between needing to do a reset … and just choosing to reset for the sake of being able to do a reset.

Well, maybe you should ask yourself what you'd change about your town if you could and if that would make you feel better. Maybe you'll figure out what it is so you can change it.
Without much information it's hard to say but if you want to reset and think that would solve it, then go ahead.

I reset my first town about a month ago because the map was the absolute worst one I could have chosen and there were a ton of ponds and all my houses/villager houses were in AWFUL locations. AND I had almost everything unlocked, I had badges, I had like 6 dreamies. I thought I would miss it so much but since resetting the game is 1000% more fun.
If you're not happy with your town, reset. At least you'll be able to figure out if the problem is with your town or with yourself.~

you said it's anger and being upset that's telling you to reset, so do it. save all that you want to save, but if a reset is what you need- i don't see why not. i mean, sometimes a fresh start is all you really need to get back into the joy of the game.

Sometimes it's nice just to start a new, even if you've put a lot of effort into it. With resetting you get new characters, fruit, a town layout, etc. However, you've probably put A LOT of time into your current town. If you're willing to do that all over again, they go for it. If not, then maybe there's something you can do to improve your current town like laying out patterns, having new villagers move in, or even building a new public works project?

Yes, if you're wondering whether to reset or not - just do it. I did it and I kinda regret it now. I miss my town. ;-; But it gets better. It's always awesome to start fresh. For some days or even weeks you may want to take a little break from the game, you know, to bear the pain and stuff. XD But this special day when you'll be like ''LET'S FREAKING PLAY ANIMAL CROSSING'' will come, trust me. Then the fun never stops. Until the next reset but let's hope your next town will satisfy you for a very long time! n_n
