So I started a thread on this topic because I noticed that no one actually replies to posts on the official resetting thread. So yeah. I started to write these huge paragraphs but it got way too long ;-;

Long story short, I feel like my town has no space and I have hardly any pwps placed. I still want so many, but there is literally no room and I have no idea why. It frustrates me to know end because I see other people's maps and they have a lot of room! Maybe its just be, Idk.

Another thing is that I wanted it to be a deer town. However, that plan failed miserably because I lost so many of them due to stupidly tt'ing. It seemed the only time I don't speak to them before I tt is when they wanna move. Typical. The only way to get them back in my town again is to reset, because I don't want to attempt to clear my 16 villager cycle, only to lose my last remaining deers.

There are set backs though, obviously.

My town is really close to being finished (beside pwps). Landscaping looks relatively good and it took me so long to get it that way, that It makes me wanna curl up into a ball and cry in the corner at the thought of doing it all over again. But again, I really, really want to reset.

Another thing is that I don't want to unlock the emporium again, along with the other shops and the qr machine. I'm so impatient.

Lastly, I have alot of objects and bells. I know I could find someone on here kind enough to hold it all for me, but really I'm so lazy and I have 3 characters with nearly full storage and I'd like to take all of it if I'm going to reset.

I'm really undecided. I hate my town map. I really feel like there is no room for anything and it makes me so frustrated because I've felt this way with every map I've gotten. This has happened before multiple times, but I always reset because my town wasn't developed much. This time it's different, and idk. I just need a little advice, thanks.

I would buy a new game but that's just what I did. In the end its easier.
But, Licorice and Haileyphi both helped me and to move everything, including at least 2000 hybrids, it only took me 4 drop offs and 4 pick ups. Its so tedious but unless you have another DS you'll be stuck with this problem regardless.
I think you should start over bc there doesn't seem to be much attachment and you should have a town how you want it! Must of us (including me) had no idea about "better" maps so we've dealt with ****ty placement of stuff.

I think if you wanna reset, by all means, do it!

You'll be happier in the long run. Sure, you gotta start all over, with the things on main street, the PWPs, but starting from a scratch can be fun sometimes! If you keep your town, you'll probably keep the same feelings you have for it now. I think you might just enjoy having a new town, and developing it into a grand one.

p.s. off topic but if you wanna go with that deer town thing I have fuchsia (uchi pink deer), and if she decides to move out and you reset and you're going for the deer town, i'll pm you if you want. :)

If you really want to get a new town and start over then you should, in my opinion. It's always good to have a fresh start. And if you need any help with putting your items into your new town, feel free to pm me. But if you feel like you have a little attachment with your current town you should probably keep it.

Oh and if you just buy everything from the store everyday you can upgrade almost all the way in a few weeks

If you have the money, I would get a 2nd copy. If you don't, then I would restart, I restarted my 2, or was it 3 year old town, but I glad I did

I was thinking of doing that! But the thought of just buying another and not playing that one again unsettles me xc I'm a little attached to it, honestly. I mean, some things are pretty good about it. Retail, the plaza and the town hall are in good places. Its more that the house placements are a little sucky.

Thank you so much! Another little problem I had was having to collect all of the tbt to buy more villagers! So that really helps, thanks a lot! :]

I have a free cycle town if you need to get villagers!

You could always just turn your main town into a cycle town!
And if you get your fave villagers you can have someone hold them til you can get them in your new town! :)

I was going to reset too for same reasons but I didnt wanna lose my process too. So I thought Id borrow my friends post and move my items in a cycling town but then my brother restarted that town and created his own town -_- so then I bought ANOTHER game to start a new town because it was preowned it had things in the game that I havent got on my main town -_- and I still haven't transferred everything over with being busy with the shop, work and college -_- lol Someday I will create alice in wonderland

I'd say go for it! You can always just dump all your stuff in my brothers town- he doesnt go on it anymore. To make things a bit quicker I could collect all your flowers etc and then we both go to my brothers town etc

Ive helped 3 people now that reset

But have a think about it- think of pros and cons then make a decision. There are always people on here to help

If you have the funds, do look into getting another copy as others have said previously. It helps my urge of resetting go away since I can mess around with the second one. But if you don't have the funds, list all the pros and cons, if the cons outweigh the pros, then do consider resetting. If not, just work around your frustrations. There was a thread that I did see about resetting let me see if I could find that...

Found it! Here is the thread: x

Consider reading that as well, but if even after reading that doesn't help, then restart and hopefully you can find the right town for you.

I feel like that too, like my town is too small but I believe it's the same for everyone. Towns in NL are genuinely the smallest in the series and although it'll seem like people have bigger towns it just depends on how you landscape it. :) Maybe try changing up the landscape a bit? like getting rid of trees and bushes that seem too crowded together? I know that creates equal amount of work for you, but sometimes it can just be the way you landscape things that make the town appear smaller than others. I know my town does appear quite small, but i'm pretty sure I have the same equal amount of space that everybody else does. Since the maps are to the same scale I believe, but it just depends on where the river is placed and how many ponds you have.

I found that if you push yourself as hard as you can to buy almost everything from Timmy and Tommy's store you'll unlock the emporium in no time. It didn't take me that long to get to TIY, since I buy atleast 1 thing every time I visit. It usually used to take me longer. If you hate your town map by all means delete it, because chances are you'll just stay unhappy with it. I think if you really want to delete it go ahead! It's your town, so do what will make you happy with it. :)

Although, at some point we've just all gotta learn to accept that no matter what, no town is perfect and no town map will be perfect either no matter how much we want it to be. Town maps will have flaws, no matter what you choose and I think that's what's beautiful about the game.

If you don't really like your town than you should reset but if you are almost done completeing your town and you don't want to do the villager cycle than I really think you should reset.

Don't worry, landscaping will be much easier next time :) You already know what you like and you're used to it.

If you actually do buy a second copy of the game, you can always sell the first when you're done tranferring. Or even better, give it to a friend and get them to play with you! A deer town is a great idea by the way ^_^

I love restarting, maybe a bit too much tbh. I sometimes restart for simple details. The feeling of starting over, making something even better can be great. Just focus on your goal and you'll be happier afterwards. In my experience, if you don't restart you'll always look at your layout and be unsatisfied.

By the way, if you have time to snap a screenshot, I'd love to have a look at your map. I've noticed that some maps seem to fill up very quickly (or seem already full when you start the game) but I couldn't pinpoint exactly what was the problem. So I'd love to take a look :)

It depends how far into the game you are. If you have completed Main Street and have gotten a lot of badges, I wouldn't reset. But if you're not that far in, by all means do it.

I wanted to reset a few weeks ago because I thought I was bored of my town and didn't like it, but i decided not to. Instead, I removed all the pathways from my town and started redesigning it from scratch. I'm really happy I chose to do that, my town is so precious to me. In the end it's your choice though.

I think reset, sometimes it's nice to start over fresh after a while however if you think your going to regret it get a new game if you really care.
