So I'm considering purchasing another copy of New Leaf so I can get another town. I'm not sick of my current town; in fact I have plenty of plans for it. I just think it would be fun to have another copy to create another town in.

I'm the type of person who gets REALLY obsessed with something for around a month or so and then I get distracted with something else or I lose interest and then I don't touch it for a year until another obsession streak happens again. That's why I hesitate owning another town. Right now, the feeling of owning another town really excites me and I feel so motivated to pick out another map and pick another 10 favourite villagers that I couldn't fit into my main town. The thought of picking out different colour schemes of flower mixes for both towns is so exciting.

It wouldn't be a cycle town. I don't have the patience for a cycle town, even though the thought is tempting. I'd get super bored within minutes.

It's another $35+tax to get another copy which is a big enough sum of money that I wouldn't want to go to waste. Do you guys own more than one town, excluding cycle towns? How do you stay motivated to play and design more than one town? I also get worried that I won't have time to manage two towns. Do you guys find it hard to manage two towns? Do you guys find it time consuming?

i have five towns total (but only three that I actively
maintain) and the only reason I have so many is because I either got them for free or on sale. if I were you, I'd wait until they are on sale before you buy one, if you still want to by then. but that's just what I would do, as I don't think $35 is worth spending on a game that's already three years old.

I usually can dedicate at least 10-20 minutes to each town a day if I'm too busy to really work on them, but just to check if anyone's moving and do the basic stuff. overall as long as you sort of make a plan for how you want to do things, it won't overwhelm you. c:

I send waiting for a sale, or maybe perhaps checking amazon or ebay for a cheaper, used copy. Wherever you saw it for $35 they're ripping you off.

Personally I have 3 towns, but I tend to keep one on 'pause' and only focus on two of them mainly. I like having more towns though. Lets me have different themes and meet more villagers and play at different paces.

I agree with the others: if you really want a second town, either wait for sales or buy it used. That way it won't be a big loss even if you end up not playing it much.

I have two copies and honestly, I regret having bought the other one. Like you, I was super exited about it at first, but it soon became apparent that I just can't focus on two towns at the same time. I play the other town for a while and then move on to the other one, and play that for a while. Some people like to play like this but it's definitely not for me. It just makes me feel like I'm not committed to either of my towns. Also, I have the same problem as you, first I get super obsessed in ACNL and then lose all interest for a while. It feels like a waste to have at least one copy sitting idle all the time.

For me, even if I could play two towns at the same time, it would take too much time. Plus it feels very repetitive because even though I make my towns different, I basically do same things in both of them. I've made about the same amount of progress in both of the towns which I think is a big factor. If the other town was significantly more advanced, I could concentrate on different things in the towns. Of course you might not be the same. It all depends on what your focus in the game is. If it's landscaping, having two towns might be just the thing for you. Whatever you do, I hope you'll be happy with your decision! :)

Agreeing with others, buy it used as cheaply as possible, assuming the contacts are still okay and such. You don't need another box anyway!

I only have one cartridge and, despite the advantages, have no plans on getting another cartridge. There's always something to do in Animal Crossing, however mundane, and with stuff such as badges you're always making progress towards something.

These are the only reasons I would consider getting another cartridge unless you don't eat and sleep:
*Cycling
*More space for stuff such as perfect fruit and perfect trees
*To travel between the two of them 500 times for each cartridge for two gold badges
*More villagers as it makes a change

Also, if you're just missing out on some of the early good stuff then create a new profile. If you already have four, move their stuff somewhere safe and delete one. Note that only the mayor can receive PWP requests. Everything else is fine, I think.

im gonna buy my second for me this saturday and i got almost 3 because of my bf
but really for me dont get one because you say it yourself once you get distracted you will loose your town as timne passes so you can get back playing
but if you can manage at least like 20-30 minutes a day for your both town then il guess its all fine there :)

I have 4 towns and play my main town every day.
One of my towns is decorated the way I want it to be so it's frozen right now on May 19. 2015.
I play the other towns when I have time and use the stop a mover trick when I know something in Real life is coming up or an event in another town.

I also have all my town in different months and different times. Guest is in March and newest one is in Dec.
Make sure that they are not set for two fishing or a bug off event on the same day. Playing the same event 2 or 3 times is too much.

Try to get it on sale just in case it doesn't work out. If running a full town is too much you could reset it and turn it into a perfect fruit town for some extra bells. If all your players stay in a tent and don't talk to the villagers they never move.

Just get it. Even if you only spend a months worth of playing it or drop it and pick it up up itll still be worth it.

I have two towns and I thought at 1st the same thing as you, should I? After owning two I really enjoy it! You get to have 20 villagers, get more badges, items, and fun! I would say yes,I had two cards and got into Tomodachi life and came back! So,my vote is yes :)

i only have one town, but i've definitely played with the idea of owning another town as well. i'd either make this a cycle town to help other players find their dreamies or an actual town to have fun and work to the top again.
i say wait for a sale. i wouldn't buy a game for almost 40 dollars and then lose interest in it after a month. if you're still interested in getting another town after a while and by the time there's a sale, then sure, why not invest in another game.
