Should I Play Cave Story?

I'm really conflicted about this, so what to do other than ask the wonderful people of Bell Tree, lol.

Here's the thing: Everyone I know who has played Cave Story loves it and states it has a compelling story and fun gameplay. Now I've never really been one for platformer/adventure type games, preferring visual novel games, JRPGs, and Rhythm games primarilly, but I do enjoy myself some retro games. The environment seems cool and some of the fan stuff Ive seen is pretty neat. Other than that, I've kept myself practically spoiler-free, so I'm kinda in the dark about this game.

Also: If I do get it, should I get it for PC or 3DS? Both are viable options to me.

YES.

If possible, get both. I started with the 3DS version (I got it as a free retail version when I bought my 3DS, Cave Story 3D) and I have replayed the game countless times. The PC version is free at cavestory.org, but you can get a kind of remastered version on Steam for $10.

I keep wondering also. I hear good things about the 3DS one, which I kind of want to get the retail version. But I hear it has glitches? But maybe and likely not. Usually when people say that it's just because they suck at the puzzles and can't do it. *remembers Trine 2*
