I am not sure if i should create another character, but a non mayor character, i really don't know what to call this character or anything about having another one!! Is there any point to having a non mayor character if you are not sharing the game?

I actually have all 4 characters created and it's just me playing :) Some people call them "mules". LOL One of mine is staying in a tent permanently because I created a campground area. I use ALL of them to store things I don't have room for, and the other 3 I use for decorating their houses. :) I completely expand their houses and decorate to my little heart's content. It's fun if you enjoy that type of thing. One I have as a Pride and Prejudice kind of theme and the other is all the holiday stuff I don't want in my house year-round. :) Snowman set, Jingle series, etc. The extra storage is a HUGE plus, though, even if you don't want to decorate another house. (also more pattern storage if you're into that)

Maybe i'll try it :D I have just restarted my town so i'm only like 3 days in, I probably will need more storage soon :) I actually heard that you can hear secrets about the mayor from the other citizens!

Yes you should, if only for storage of items and patterns. Make it your opposite gender.

Oooh, I hadn't heard that about the secrets! I need to talk with the villagers with my other characters, then! :D That could be amusing. lol

I currently have 3 characters and I will be creating a 4th some time soon. The only reason I make them is because I put paths down around my town and 10 spaces just isn't enough. They're great for storage too.

If you have some money left you can upgrade to an 8x8 main room and upstairs (bed)room. Fill it with unorderable furniture that you don't need at the moment, like Cabana or Mermaid.

I got 2 characters now and I highly recommend it. In fact, I plan on adding a third character soon. However it has to wait for a little longer, since Agent S is still occupying the spot I want the third house to be.

The biggest reason for me is the storage. But it also helps with patterns and I like the different interaction the 2nd character gets. I play a lot less with her, while my main character is always the pro listener pretty much. So it really is fun to see the other side of my villagers as well (and hear them gossip gheghe).

Normally I have just one, but this time I made all 4 for patterns and storage purposes so yeah. Good for storage. On the otherhand, they do take up space in your town which means less room for exterior decorating/landscaping so it really depends on what you feel you focus more on.

I have two characters in my town; my mayor and Fishie. I made her so I could display the other furniture sets I like without just tossing them in storage or my museum. I use Fishie to create clothing and I use my mayor for paths and pattern art. You also get double the unorderables, DLC's and holiday specials, so there's a plus. ;)

If you have a certain villager that you want gone, you can make a second character and have it talk to all the villagers you want to keep, but ignore the ones you don't want. One of the ignored ones may ping you to move out.

Finally, there's a weird thing that sometimes happens where if you go on one character and a villager pings you to move and you accidentally say yes, then you go on your alt and that villager pings you to move, and you choose yes again, the villager will change their mind and stay in town. I think this works vice-versa too, and if it does it's a great life-saver.

So if you have the room for another player house, I say go ahead. There aren't too many downsides to it.

You could store more qr codes with another non mayor character, which is a plus.

Themed houses should also be fun. I'm planning on making a mall (restaurant + bar + movie theater + stuff) and a school (classroom + computer room + library + even more stuff) some time down the road. I've seen dream towns where they made fully-themed castles and mansions that look drop-dead gorgeous.

Their houses take a big amount of space, though!

I've made a 2nd character for pattern storage but I also wanted to make some kind of shop or hospital in their house too... I wouldn't let their house go to waste xD

I have a mule that stores my paths and also all the stuff that my mayor doesn't have room for! It helps immensely. I hope Nintendo give us much more storage in the next AC...

My sister is the mayor since it's her game, but she lost interest after two weeks. I made an account and I'm not the mayor and I've been playing every day for 3 months xD Basically, having a non-mayor character is just as fun as being the mayor. It's like the old games...the only thing you can't do is place PwPs, but usually I just log into my sister's account to do that. :P
