I have that second town, Essen, but I never go on it... I kinda gave up on the food-themed town since so many dreamies for it are Tier 1 and INSANELY expensive. So should I make it into a cycle town? What do you guys think?

If you wish. You could always cycle on it and trade popular villagers for the ones you want and then build your theme.
No one can really decide but you.

I would say...that if you plan to make a cycle thread to make sure that you're prepared for all the time cycling takes and upkeep of the thread.

Either way, good luck!

Making a cycling town would be the perfect way to build up all the funds needed to buy your villagers for the food themed town, if you're not just trading for them. Plus, you could always just pick and choose which ones you want to sell/auction rather than make a whole cycling thread, it might save you the headache.
Good luck!
