I'm really torn on what I should do here, any help? :(

Things I like:
-South facing waterfall.
-Town Hall is directly above the Plaza.
-Retail is by the Train Station.
-Permanent Rocks are placed in decent locations that shouldn't be in my way. (5 total)
-Pond Locations.

Things I dislike:
-Town fruit is Cherries when I wanted Apples.
-Grass is square when I wanted circle.

The things I dislike may seem not that significant but I was almost dead set on having apples as my town fruit. I love the perfect apples!
The grass was less important but still kind of a bummer.

So what does everyone think? Should I keep or throw away for a better map with apples? If I should keep where would be a good place to put my house and campsite?

Thanks! ^_^

i think you should keep it. having apples may have been very important to you, but perfect cherries don't look too bad! that little piece of land in the bottom right seems perfect for a house imo

It's quite nice, but I have to say I tried to settle for a perfect fruit I didn't like once and I ended up just resetting. My suggestion is stop resetting for now, give it a few hours (or days if you can) to see if you deal with the things you don't like. I found during resetting that I was surprisingly more willing to give up my ideal map layout for something that wasn't perfect but had the fruit and grass pattern I like.

This was what I was thinking too, I'd play for a bit and see how it goes. I'm kind of a perfectionist on some thing's and anytime I've tried to "settle" on something I've always been disappointed later on in my other games. I actually don't even hate the cherries, I just really like perfect apples and have never had apples as a town fruit. I planned on having a section of perfect apples all clumped together and use normal peaches throughout the town as they are my favorite normal fruit.

It's just so hard of a decision because this is a lovely map aside from that fact. >.<

It's a pretty nice map except the pond right in front of train station. Well, if you can work around it you should keep it c: i settled with square grass too in my new town when i wanted circle ;__; and oranges instead of apples.. Well if native fruits bugs you too much you might wanna reset..>.<

If you feel any distaste towards the map, no matter how small (apart from starting villagers), I'd restart until you get something you are 100% satisfied with. It'll save you a lot of trouble down the road.

^ Agreed with Mairmalade. Choose a map that you are 100% content with. Are you a perfectionist like me? I pulled an all-nighter just to find a particular map. :D
...that was 20 towns ago...

I gave a few maps a try when I was resetting (for few days each) and you'll know after playing a while if it feels right or wrong. I was a little surprised that that I liked my new town so much because at first I was expecting to reset again. But with this one I just ended up feeling so at home that I couldn't possibly reset it despite a few flaws.

Thanks guys! Honestly this helped alot and I think I'm gonna keep going. :) I really want apples! Not that I hate the cherries but I think they are better looking normal than perfect and since I plan on using all normal peaches for decor I don't want my town fruit to be wasted and not even use it that's just silly >.< Stupid perfectionism but.... Ya know what can you do. X3

I'll probably update this thread with a new map if I find a better one :3 Determined to be 110% happy with my town layout for once <3

This map looks really nice! I would defiantly keep it if I were you. The grass is not that big of a deal for me when I look for a town because i usually cover it up with paths or flowers. The perfect apples you can get from other people that might want to trade with you. You can plant apple trees in your town and take out all the cherry trees. You might not ever get natural perfect apples though. Good maps are hard to come by and you have to deal with what you have for a while if you don't want to reset your town over again.

oh wow that map looks great remember you can get apples from another persons town. its so cool how all the villagers live all in the same place I would keep it if I were you

I already am on the search for another map. Sadly getting given perfect apples won't help me much considering they will never grow perfect in my town. :( I don't really like the look of normal apples at all and plan on planting only normal peaches and perfect apples. XD

Omg this is hilarious, I literally posted something just like this yesterday and what we wanted in our towns are almost exact and my map looks almost exactly like yours! I say keep it :D I wanted circle grass too but got triangle. It's honestly not that significant I realized.

I had the exact same dislikes about my current town, i didn't want triangle grass and i had cherries instead of apple/peach, and at the time i had a real resetting problem, but i have still got the town and the cherries and grass i stopped paying attention to, this is the town i've kept for the longest now, so go for it, it seems annoying now, but the map makes up for it, and you'll soon get over it

but for me i also have a second cartridge, so that i can choose a map with different grass and fruit so if you don't have that i'd say keep resetting till it's perfect otherwise once you settle you may not want to reset and you've lost that opportunity, keep going for days if you have to, i sort of got tired and settled for second best whereas it could have been possible with enough patience to come accross the same map with different specs

I do have a second town but I was really upset with myself becauss I settled with a fruit I didn't like and a few other things just because the town had Merengue which was a BIG mistake because I can always get villagers later. So I really think I'm gonna try for a nice map with apples; the grass I'll get over if it has all the other things I want. :)

Do your best \(^o^)/ can't wait to see the new map u chose~ Patience wafu~

Honestly if I had that map I'd be amazed mostly by Villagers houses since they're all starting off on one side :O And I really don't like that thin strip on the top left above the river where u can hardly do anythin there :<

And yea the grass and native fruit are pretty important >< It's such a pity that they don't give us map with rock placement, grass shape and native fruit XD But that will be asking too much hahahaha

Yes! That strip of land was bothering me too. I was thinking campsit but I'm not sure if it would even fit haha!

I'll post my new map as soon as I get one. :3

I FINALLY got a map I love! After many many MANY long hours and thought I'd share. :3

Things I love <3
-Town fruit is apples! Yay
-South facing waterfall.
-Town Hall directly above the plaza.
-Retail is close to the train station.
-Only two ponds.
-The rocks have tried to behave themselves as much as possible. (I really hate rocks)
-The strip on the top right is spacious enough for a campsite.
-Whitney and Skye are starting villagers. Whitney is a dreamie for this town and I am happy with her location. (She's the one by my waterfall)
-Private Beach
-The town just feels "right" walking around and I'm getting the good vibes. xD

Things I dislike </3
-I got square grass again instead of circle. HOWEVER, it's not really that big of a deal; I like square almost as much as circle. The only grass I am really bothered with is triangle.

So overall I am pretty happy with it. :3 Now I just need to figure out where to put my house now. XD

I'm so happy you found one you like! Seems like it fits basically all your requirements which is awesome! I think it looks really nice too. I also have a little strip of land in the top right corner that I use for the campsite and I actually really like that location for it. I'm jealous that your Retail is so close to the Train Station - my map would be my absolute dream map if my Town hall and Retail locations were switched.

I'd probably put a house either around where you're standing on the map in the pic or by the waterfall across from Whitney. I like living by the river though, some people prefer to be by the beach or surrounded by grass for a garden. Have fun in your new town!
