I bought the n3ds the day it came out just in case I wanted it so it wouldn't be hard to find later. I already have the 3ds XL and it's served me well for the past year. I paid $220 for the n3ds and I just want to know if it's worth it or not to keep. I haven't opened it yet so I can still return it if I so desire. I already bought MH4 and Majora's Mask and I'm enjoying both a lot.

To those of you who have the n3ds, how do you like it? Is it worth it?

Are there any other exclusives other than Xenoblade Chronicles coming out that I would find worthy of getting an n3ds?

No other exclusives have been released yet.
But just like the Ds, they're going to quit making games for the 3DS and you'll then need that N3DS. So you may as well keep it if you already have it.

If you bought it, keep it. I personally don't like the New 3DS at all. I haven't been impressed with these "Next Gen Consoles", but they really get you when they start releasing exclusives for them.

Keep it. It may take a minute for exclusives to come out but E3 is around the corner and there will also probably be a Nintendo Direct or two before then too, I'm sure they'll mention more.

But the New 3DS is an 8th generation handheld console, same as the 3DS. Nobody ever said it's next gen.

I'd keep it. As other people have stated, eventually there's going to be exclusives for it and you might want to get one of those. There's also games available now that are N3DS-enhanced, like Smash Bros. and Monster Hunter 4.

I got the New 3DS XL and before that I had the first 3DS they came out with and that was all I had. So this new 3DS is a HUGE step up for me and I looove this new 3DS. If you already have a newer XL I doubt there would be too many differences for you besides the exclusives and stuff they added to the new 3DS.

I would still keep it. With all of them being sold out so far, you could just keep it boxed and sell it online for more than you bought it.

I bought the n3ds xl..I had the aqua 3ds. THe xl is a step up but other than that to me its no biggie. I would not have upgraded had I already had an xl. Its an improvement for me somewhat and an upgrade but if you already have an xl its not a must have IMO. Nothing about it is that great honestly.

Oh and where I am..the n3ds is not sold out anywhere.

If you already have the New 3DS, you should just keep it. I doubt Nintendo is going to direct their efforts to just making New 3DS exclusives, but i'm sure Nintendo will have a few exclusives (Xenoblade Chronicles 3D included) for the New 3DS. Plus, the New 3DS already has NFC functionality and the c-stick built-in, so you'll have an easier time with amiibos and games like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

If you already went to the trouble of picking one up, and you're not strapped for cash or anything like that, definitely just keep it. But if you'd rather spend that money on other games (or what have you) and you already have a normal 3DS/XL lying around and could do without the n3DS, yeah, take it on back to the store.

I'd say keep it even though I thought it was a really uncreative system to be released. Nothing really surprised me about it so I kind if dislike it. So yeah just keep it in case they make exclusives for it.

Buy another ACNL copy and play two towns, then visit yourself and have more fun? lol on a serious note though, its entirely up to you. If one 3DS breaks, you already have a backup plan. If you're not in need of cash then I suppose you might as well keep it. As others have already stated, there will be a few games that are exclusive to the N3DS. The deciding factor (besides being strapped for cash) should actually be 3D usage. If you use 3D a lot in your games, then you'd probably be better off with the N3DS because you don't have to keep your head in one position forever just to prevent the 3D from screwing up, while on the N3DS it'll track the position of your head to keep the 3D effect going and not messing itself up due to head position.

I'd keep it. I tried out the n3ds at gamestop and I don't get the circle pad. How do you use that thing???

If you bought it, you should keep it. You can keep it as a spare or switch to it and keep your regular XL as a spare. This is especially true if you like some of the (few) games that are going to get n3DS exclusives.

If you really don't need it and can still return it, then I'd probably do it. You can just use that money to buy more games or something, and you can always buy the n3DS again when prices go down if you really want one.

I'll assume you're referring to the C-stick, since the circle pad is on the normal 3DS as well.

Basically, you push it like you would with any joystick and it reads your input, though since it works with pressure, the nub itself doesn't actually move. It's pretty sensitive, so works well for stuff like camera control in Majora's Mask 3D, Metal Gear Solid 3D, and the Monster Hunter games (and basically anything else that has Circle Pad Pro support).

this girl has a n3ds and I plan on evaluating it to see if it fancies me before I ask my uncle to get me one. I usually wait till a special edition ds comes out before I decide I want the new console though. I think you should keep yours, you already bought it... Some games will come out for n3ds and you'll probably be interested in them so why not?

Keep it if it doesn't confuse you which is the NEW 3DS and which is the old 3DS cause apparently everyone can't keep it straight

Yep, I ended up keeping it. I'm really happy that I am too. Monster Hunter seems a thousand times better versus having to use my thumb to tap the touch screen on my original 3ds. Also, I'm very pleased with the head tracking in regards to the 3D function. I don't see much of a difference in regards to processing, though.

But anyways, thanks so much guys for your input! I really appreciate it. :)
