I've heard mixed reviews about it so idk if i should get it? Is it boring? Does the game have any story and monsters to beat?

I'm enjoying it so far actually, I find it relaxing and I enjoy taking and sharing my screen shots.

I don't want to add too many spoilers but yes NMS has main quest paths although the biggest thing is the exploration aspect, no multiplayer yet (not sure if that's going to be added or not at some point) and while most planets have some form of randomly generated life, some aggressive carnivores, they're pretty easy to deal with in my experience. There are possible space attacks by pirate ships although I've avoided most of these myself.

From all I've gathered it seems like a big mess. It's a game that tries to do exploration but then messes up on a lot of aspects that make it interesting. You can literally achieve and get everything on your first planet.
It's also a game that was straight up lied about, and I'm not only talking about the multiplayer. Sean hyped up many things about the game just a few months before it finished and many of these things weren't in the game at release.

The biggest things being lied about in my opinion were factions and any sort of huge importance for the 3 races, being able to trade on a huge level and planets having realistic mechanics such as actually orbiting around the sun and this actually affecting the game. None of these are in the game.

There are absolutely no interactions with factions and interacting with the 3 races is kind of minimal. You just kinda learn their words at times. Trading is a waste of time and really shallow, even though it was advertised as a way to play the game. Planets are just as unrealistic as current video games are, they don't actually orbit anything and nothing is affected by the environment. You're not more likely to find a hot planet by a sun or a cold planet away from the sun for an example.

It's basically a really shallow puddle of a game that promised to be truly next gen and to have all these qualities that people love in exploration games, like factions, but then having none of them.
It seems to be fun for the first few hours though, but quickly loses it's novelty when you realize the gameplay is doing this one thing over again. If you want a casual walking simulator that is ''relaxing'' aka shallow and boring, then go ahead but I wouldn't buy it for full price. It also seems to be getting paid DLC from what I've heard so woo.

Oh also to answer your question. The monsters seem like pushovers for the most part, never seen anyone be attacked by more than a few enemies and there seems to be a huge lack of OP monsters. Space fights are minimal and aren't on a huge scale like promised. The story is barely there and is entirely minimal and the goal you're trying to reach is laughable. I'm not going to spoil what's in the center of the universe but it's really not worth going after.

I like it thus far.

I'm taking it slow. I compare it to ACNL a little bit. Theres not a ton of story and you do what you want and build your own story.

I love running around learning the races language and reading the story of the races. You have to gather resources to keep your ship running and to sell. The combat is minimal and not intense. I consider that a positive.

Obviously theres a lot of differences too. Watch some gameplay. Read both positive reviews and negative. I wasn't excited at all, but my boyfriend got it and now we are fighting for play time lol. See if a friend has it and will let you play or watch.

For sure, try before you buy.

Nahh. Even though I like it, there's definitely not enough in the game to warrant $60. Wait until they update the game with more features or wait for some kind of price drop.
