So, I'm wanting to learn French. My ACNL copy is currently English, I was wondering if I should do it? At least test it out. Does anyone else have any experience with trying to learn other languages using ACNL? I want to do it... But scared I won't understand anything my Villigers say.

Well I have a EU 3DS. So I can change my whole 3DS to French xD

I see. I would give it a try if I were you if you knew some words and phrases. If not, I would not suggest doing it, as it's going to be difficult and very time consuming.

But that's just my opinion.

Ok well so I changed it for 5 minutes, and Whitney just gave me a banana and I have no idea why. XD. Might keep it, have no idea.

I do know basic French, like what words mean what. English is quite similar to French in a lot of ways so yeah

Perhaps not change it until you are fairly confident in your skills, with complex sentence structure and the like. If you're only taking beginner's French, I wouldn't recommend changing the whole game's language, especially not in such a text-based one as ACNL. Heck, I'm in German 2 and I'm not confident enough yet to do that...

I took French in school, so I know some words.
You can always super quickly change it back, and it won't do anything xD.

NOPE THATS IT FRENCH YOUR FREAKY.
I don't know exactly.
But Chef just said something along the lines of
'I don't know what came into me, other, I brought another baby-foot'.
Yup no way crap, forget you French *throws books out the window*

Oohhh sounds like fun, I might change mine to French too! I have completely forgotten the 10+ years of French I took in school.

Oooh, I should see if I can change mine to Spanish! And then when I'm getting frustrated that I can't understand my villagers it will remind me to keep studying my Spanish

I'm a complete language geek and I've considered doing this... I might switch to french / maybe english ^^
I'd say go for it... you can always put it back in english, right? haha. I would say it also depends on the level you have on your target language... I feel comfortable with english and I'm pretty sure I could understand everything... but french could be frustrating!
