Are you planning to get live? If not then the arcade is the way to go. If you do want live,then buy the pro. It comes with a internet cable that allows you to conncect to live. While the arcade doesn't have that you have to pay a extra $100 for it while the pro is 249.99 so you save30 bucks the Arcade is good for NON-XBOX LIVE and the Pro is good for XBOX LIVE

Yes, you still have to buy Xbox live. I believe the cable connects you to the internet. There's a wired cable that you plug into a computer, or a wireless one that wirelessly connects to the computer (I'm not sure what one comes with the pro/elite) Anyway, that only connects you to the internet. To really get live, you can do one of two things. One, but a card at most shops. These come in 3, 6, and 12 months, I think... This is the most convenient way. The other way is to buy membership online. You may think this is easier, but it's not. You have to remember to call the Xbox people and tell them to cancel. Otherwise, you'll pay for another amount as what you paid for before.
Bottom line-To get live, you have to either buy a card or purchase it online. If you buy online, you have to call and cancel to avoid paying again.

The ethernet cable is totally worthless. It's like, what, 3 feet long? Unless you're gonna be playing your 360 3 feet away from you modem, you're gonna need a wireless adapter, which is $100. :/
